Qualityof wave 3

Mongoose
Hi, I recieved my wave 3 stuff today and was extremely impressed. For starters the plastic is much stiffer and harder than the original wave 1 items. The paint jobs have improved significantly as well especially on the Force Recon team. Anyway, justed wanted to thank mongoose and encourage them to keep improving their miniatures as they have shown they are doing with wave 3.

Thanks for the kind words. The team involved in driving the Evolution games forward have put an enormous amount of work in, especially Adrian Walters who spends so much time researching modern weponry we could probably set up an arms dealership between us. ;)

Rest assured nobody here is resting on their laurels and with SST Evo on the way and many more waves in development, there's plenty for us to do.

Just keep on putting out the goods and we will keep buying them :) I really can't wait to see your stuff for SST Evo.

Same, I really cannot wait for SST Evo.

If quality keeps improving at this rate, I'm not gonna have to repaint em!

 Unless they came pre-painted silver I very much doubt I would re-paint them

Might try and convince my mate The Legend to do some inking and dry brushing and what ever on them..... I dunno let him take them home so he could look at them and see what has happened to them when he brings them back 8)

Got an SAS squad today, and the figures are another marked improvement on their predecessors. The only points that reall yneed imporvement further are the eyes and skin tones, but even with that slight caveat, they still look fantastic on the table.

I don't know why they insist on painting the eyes that way. Only the two pro painters I know paint eyes that way. 99% of the rest paint either a simple dot or slit and dot. Racham's AT-43 minis don't even have eyes painted and they look fine.

Indeed. They should just keep it simple with faces particulalrly with the eyes.

I'm more than happy with the models otherwise.

Too bads odds are 100% that the colour schemes do NOT match my colour schemes :-)

Might use the pre-painted versions for skinnies though. No skinnies army yet so there I don't have problems with older armies :)

Wasn't colecting Starship Troopers stuff before, but may do if the minis are any good when EVO comes out.

I lie the rules though already, so that is a bonus.

I'm hoping SST: Evo manages to keep the spirit of MI vs Bugs games intact. There's few things as fun as a thin line of troopers desperately trying to hold off a couple hundred bugs.

The 1 reaction maximum is sort of going to knacker that... Although who knows they may put special rules in for the MI that alter this, I dunno take a ready action for your last action and you can react as often as you like with the old ammo rules or something......

Errr this topic seems to straying a little bit away from BF:Evo

I don't think it's going to knacker the MI too badly - the inability to save a ready across turns is much more worrisome (my favoured tactic is to jump and shoot as a reaction with anything bar LAMI, who stand and shoot till they die or have to move). I think it'll get MI players even more cautious...

I repaint all my pre-paints as it stands.
I might not repaint the tunguska, but I have been redoing the Technicals.
I have started redoing the Fedayeen and I think my repaints are a huge improvement.
I do think the MGP prepaints are good, they are nice and simple. I think they would benefit more from a basic system of base, ink and drybrush, leaving us the choice of leaving them at tabletop standard or highlighting and shading where we feel necessary (and doing details such as eyes). :)
I am going to put photos up and see what people honestly think, I am unsure about my technicals, the scratches I have done look a little weird I think.

Picked up a Tunguska last night. The paint scheme is fantastic, and there's so many nice little details on there. The line is maturing in terms of detail with exceptional speed, I'm looking forward to SST and WWII even more now.

WWII? Has it been confirmed that MGP is going to go historical? Personally I feel they would be better off producing more for BF and SST. Or Making a Judge Dredd Evo game with loads of mini's.
