Quality of BF Evo minis appears to be improving

Hi Matt,

I have already posted to say I wasn't happy with the initial Wave 1 of BF:Evo minis that I have seen in person.

Looking at the new BF:Evo minis coming out - or at least the "prototypes"? the quality seems to be improving.

If this trend continues and the minis consistently get better you have made me a very happy man Matt!

I just looked at the US recon Team prototypes and the faces actually have features that are not just painted on.

Please continue this trend and I will be the first to cue up and buy new SST: Evo and get my mates involved.

Please, Please, Please let Wave 1 of SST:Evo minis be better

P.S. What would I have to do to get some of the new SST:Evo Bugs & MI minis etc so I can demo SST: Evo in our local area in Australia leading up to their release?

The new game rules will be good with the changes that have been previewed (I like the new Reaction rules) and if the pre-paints come up this good I can get a number of locals buying up big and hopefully get my local store to stock them!

Thanks for the kind words. This is exactly why SST Evo was delayed in preference of BF Evo. As with everything, we take what we learn, and build on it.

As for running demo games, we will be previewing the wave 1 unit cards in S&P soon, giving you everything you need to begin using your older models with the new rules!

Now I really want to go buy a box of Exosuits while I still can. My cap troopers will have to wait until wave 2 previews though.

But that's a seriously smart, and nice move to release the wave 1 stats early along with the core rules so old timers can start playing immediately. I've been itching to play some games of SST, but not with the old rules.

Really? Have you seen any reliable information about what is going to be released in each wave recently then?

Last I heard was from some magazine(ergo not neccessarily that reliable) and had IIRC marauder as second wave MI unit. Cap trooppers weren't all that close to wave 1 at all(was it august with wave 1 being released on april).

Nope no info on wave release. It's likely we won't see cap troopers until a bit later considering that they were so readily available before, anyone who wanted them already has them or can buy them cheap.

Well the list in the magazine(very dubious reliability though. There were months with some factions not having even 1 release despite Mongoose having goal of 1 release per army in each month after initial launch and even 1 month with precicely 1 release...) very early was LAMI specialist package. I think then came some fliers.

Ok. You just mentioned specifically wave 2(rather than future wave) so I thought you might have heard something new.

Then again. Once the full PDF comes out no need to worry about which wave they are :wink:

Exosuits good. Enjoyed really much painting the 14 I have. Just need to buy 2 more boxes of cougars and 1 of grizzlies to get my platoon into near complete(I need: 9 cougars and 2 grizzlies. Say something about annoying number mismatch! Well. 1 cougar officer blister ought to deal with it :lol: And that spare grizzly can always be used as officer for cap platoon)

Cap trooper just means any MI who's made a combat drop. In the game universe, the movie guys are Light Armour Mobile Infantry, or LAMI for short (and the butt of many LAME jokes)

Yeah, all that and the Tanker was the second Bug Choice. I can't remember the names, but the two Forth choices were the suits we saw pics of ages ago- the red/white command suit and blue/yellow grunt (which has now been repainted) one.

My local store carries the PREVIEW magazine (Feb issue) by Diamond Distributing. In it were pics and a list of the first wave releases. The pics do look really good. The Forth were excellent.
