Purchased as surplus fleet list.

I recently started a League fleet and then discovered I had several ships from other fleets in an old bits bag. My rational for them being in a Leage fleet was that they were purchased as surplus.

That got me thinking, what if a minor League world suddenly found itsself with lots of money (large rare metals deposite found in the asteroid belt) but no shipyards? It wants fleet but is regulated to buying other races out of date and obsolete surplus (no one wants to give up a state of the arts ship to a 3rd rate power).

All ships listed here to pick from have a production date of 2217 or older. I picked that date because it is fifty years older than the most recent ships (2267). Also listed are ships that have an end production date.

Before anyone says anything, Shadow, Vorlon, Minbari, Dilgar and Drakh would never sell ships to anyone and all ISA ships are too new.

As you might expect, lots of choices at Patrol and Skirmish level. Above that it's almost all Centauri.

Anyway, somtimes I get an idea an run with it just to amuse myself. What do you think? Other than that I have way too much time on my hands.

Well in that circumstance I am sure Dilgar would never sell to anyone but there would have to be a fair few reconfigured hulls put together from wrecks, salvage and captures from the era. The Shadows of Omelos list had a fair few funky reconstituted Dilgar vessels that would go well in the list.
Also the other raider variants like the Nova mod would be easily navailable in that circumstance. I also think the Centauri (and anyone else) would be extremely unlikely to sell any ships over Skirmish or raid level. ie old Octurians and the like. In a sense you are basically talking about a legit raider fleet (legit as in legal for the universe's authorities) with some extra access because of its legitimate purchase for government defense and relevant end user certificates and the like. Much like what we have with third world powers and tin pot despots today. Cash dumping ground for small scale obsolete weapons by the big powers after a quick buck. In this way you could get anything old and smaller than raid level with some home cooked mods from S&P magazine raider fleets.
