We are very proud to announce the launch of the Travellers' Aid Society, a new programme that allows fans of Traveller to publish commercial material for their favourite sci-fi game with very few restrictions!

You can visit the TAS here: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/45/Mongoose/subcategory/161_25550/Travellers-Aid-Society

And learn all the ins and outs here: http://support.drivethrurpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/208597136-Mongoose-The-Travellers-Aid-Society-TAS-

However, we have made everything very simple. When publishing through Drivethru and TAS, you are free to use any and all current material from the new edition of Traveller as well as (and this is the big one!) any information from any of our Third Imperium books - that is right, you are no longer restricted to specific areas such as Foreven, you can now publish material for the Spinward Marches, Solomani Rim, or any other areas of the Official Traveller Universe.

We have also created forums to handle discussions and all your questions about TAS right here: http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/viewforum.php?f=150

The Far Future is looking bright!

Wow! That sounds great - but will there be Canon releases for the Third Imperium setting by mongoose down the line? :)

Excellent news indeed!

We at Stellagama Publishing have two products for the new edition of Mongoose Traveller in final layout stages, and more on the way... Will definitely publish material through the TAS!

Can you charge for it or is it meant to be free stuff only? Can you Kickstarter a module and then sell it on TAS as well later I wonder?

TAS is strictly a DTRPG vehicle. You must publish the ugh them and agree to their license if you want to use all the official and other TAS source material.

Yes , you can charge for it, but half of the royalties go to them and Mongoose.

I suppose you could Kickstart a module. Though I do not know if you tried to distribute your free copies through DTRPG if they would charge you royalty on that or not. Their agreement says if they give away copies for free for promotion or review, that the author receives no royalty.

According to drivethrurpg, no you cannot "sell" copies through kickstarter. So you cannot promise copies in exchange for money anywhere except drivethrurpg, if going through this.

It's possible that Mongoose might consider some kind of separate licensing agreement for Traveller- related kickstarters, but I suspect that they'd only do this for established players as the reputational damage to the brand from a failed kickstarter could hurt them. If in doubt, check with Matt.

Also, does the new system explicitly prohibit dual-licensed product? Is it possible to publish material vioa this route that supports multiple rulesets (e.g. Traveller and White Star)?
