Is now up on the web site, at;

Quick clarification requested from Matt or Author if possible.

For the Psionic Blast, is the damage

(3d +2*effect ) * points ,

or

3d + (2*effect*points)

The latter seems a bit less over the top, and I know that this clarification has been needed before. Of course, I don't know yet how likely having the skill is, or how hard it is to have 15 PsiPoints, so it may not be as big a deal as it seems. (ie only Grandfather ever had 15 PsiSt)

It should be 3d+2+Effect. No multipliers in there.

Here's what is in the preview
If directed at a specific target, the Mind Blast delivers 3d6 + Effect
damage for every 2 Psi invested in the power.
If used to affect an area, 2d6 + Effect damage is delivered to every
living thing in a radius of 1 metre for every 1 Psi invested in the
power.

It's the "for every 1 Psi" that seems to be a multiplier. -typo ? Old text ?

As far as I know that is correct. 3d6+effect for every 2 points of Psi you invest, or 2d6+effect for every one point of Psi you invest.

It was written with _all_ the forthcoming Traveller settings in mind. Think Judge Dredd too!

Hmmm...Personaly I love the d20 B5 books but I'm mostly interested in using the MGT rules for the OTU setting only. I hope they're sidebars or something for optional rules which can be used in Judge Dredd or B5.

I don't see happening Psi powers as mutations having much use in B5 or the OTU. But they're common in Judge Dredd and TSR's Gamma World game. Maybe I'm just being picky cause it says Traveller on the cover rather than something else :)

There are no sidebars as such, but plenty of advice on choosing which psionics to use for different campaign types. The range of talents and powers is extensive; from the more trad, hard SF psionics, through to outlandish powers that fit comic book settings perfectly. Its a question of referees deciding which talents and powers fit their campaign, and then how those are made available to players. View Psion as a toolkit that can be tailored to most, if not all, SF genres.

I can see more of the book being for B5 then the OTU.

I have had not entirely unrelated thoughts along those lines.

I hope there'll still be room for a Psi-Division sourcebook for Dredd later down the line. No two Psionic organisations are alike, and huge cultural differences exist between Psi-Div, the Zhodani and Psi Corps, for instance.
