Early Prototype TL15 Jump-8 X-Boat

100 dT, J-8, M-2, MCr 1000.
Uses a 80 dT drop tank, so can as usual only jump between prepared bases.
Crew: 5, 5 spacious staterooms w 10 escape capsules, no cargo.

Can potentially cut the communication time between Capital and Regina from ~40 weeks to ~20 weeks.

And if we are being petty about the details canon have always insisted that each level of jump requires a theoretical breakthrough, making even unreliable prototypes at lower TLs impossible...

Why does it have to have a misjump chance? The prototype Tech 17 Jump 8 software will control the jump. I am not sure if the bandwidth would have to be higher than 50 to run. You may need a bigger Core computer.

Have to? No, but we are speculating that a more or less jury-rigged experimental prototype of a not fully understood technology would be less than totally reliable.

By RAW there is no extra chance of failure.

The prototype Tech 17 Jump 8 software will control the jump. I am not sure if the bandwidth would have to be higher than 50 to run. You may need a bigger Core computer.
