Hi!

(Q PROBABLY ALREADY ANSWERED, but, still worth a try:)

I was wondering about the compatibility issue betwixt B5 & B5 2nd ed...

Can the olde source/adventurebooks be integrated without too much fuss, or should I wait for the new version/2nd Ed source/adventurebooks?

(For example, I was thinking of buying the PSICO sourcebook but tremble at the notion of spending days & weeks converting NPCs & rules to fit in the new streamlined 2nd Ed.)

Thanks!

I'll let LBH answer this :D

Before the release of 2nd edition we were promised that all 1st edition books and supplements would be compativble.

However the conversion guide listed in the back of the 2nd edition was rather lacking. I have seen a playtester version of it that was better but still lacking.

THere has begun a series of articles in Signs & Portents to allow conversion to take place, but this is also, in my own personal opionion, sorely lacking, being almost entirely fluff about the changes that have taken place and no crunch about how to convert existing characters.

I wait and hope.

Hiyas!

Dear LBH,

THANKS for your frank response!

So, are you saying that most 1st ed books are best left alone for now?

Which, do you think have the least ammount of trouble converting, if any?

The lkeast amount of troublke for 1st edition supplements would be the ship plans, pure fluff, no probs there, as for the rest, all about equal I suppose, since all of them contain crunch.
