Price rise

I am not outraged by the increase. I accept it as a part of life.

You have a point or two there, but there´s still one problem with that: There´s only a certain amount of money anyone can spend on the miniatures, So while it is understandable that there has to be increases in pricing every now and then, this does sadly mean that most of us can afford less ships at the same price

When i look at my Tm ships i ask New Mould? Really why are then they look like nothing no clear line nothing that tells you what ship you have.

Least the Fleet boxes are still are a good deal. I've ended getting another dilgar one instead of purchasing a few more ships because it ended up cheaper. Sulust's are still good value at $10 while the Dilgar Ochlavita Destroyer is not at $18.

Yeah, what's effectively happened is that certain ships will barely sell at all(T'Rakk for example) while other ships and groups of them will sell well. The Fleet Boxes were anywhere from an okay deal to good deal before. They're even better now from a price standpoint and probably still a good deal from a price vs. personal value standpoint. The Reinforcement boxes while going up in price are still generally fall within the "fair" to "good" price range depending on the specific box. There might be a few exceptions but I'd have to check.

A lot of individual ships, although not all, have exited the realm of being worth it though. And some ships that were a bad deal in the first place(Adira, we're looking at you) have become even worse. Part of the reason that Mongoose is less able to get away with high prices than say GW, is that at least when you pay too much for a GW metal mini you know you're getting a high quality mini. Mongoose minis(at least for ACTA) are often fixer upper opportunities so the upgraded prices mean that we're going to be faster to question those prices.

T`Rakk mini is a bit pointless when you can buy a T`Loth for an extra $4 and have yourself two T`Rakk minis instead.

It's also worth noting that the UK and US prices don't match the exchange rate, never have as far as i recall. you see $8 on the packet and assume £4, then it costs you £6, so us folks in the Uk always kinda faced unfavourable pricing anyway, bit annoying as it's a UK company, ggrrr, but then thats Rip off Britain for you. great example is a board game i want. $45 in the us, so about £22. but over here it's £50!!! scandelous! generally, the gaming population is taken as mugs, and we pay the silly prices (and the good prices like fleet boxes) because their are few alternatives :-(

but all game companies do it, not just mongoose, these people have to make a living from a limited market.

It's not just gaming companies who do that, its almost all companies :(
Not always their fault either, since their suppliers do it to them...

These days it is often better to find a US store with reasonable postage rates (that uses UPS so you don't get hit with customs duties). Of course with a big boxed game that may not be possible.

tell me about it. I'm planning on getting my mates dad who lives in Houston to buy it and send it over as a "gift"..

Well, have to say I'm surprised by some of the price changes, but overall not too bad, many things weren't affected in the least.
That being said, I was still up until 1am updating the webshop. If anyone does go on there and notices any mistakes then please drop me an email.

And does anyone know where the Chronos box set has gone?

Mmmm, I have a couple of the Chronos boxed sets in stock. Might have to 'liberate' them for myself.

You can never have too many Skirmish level Chronos!

the Chronos box set seems not to be available any more. I bought one of the last two in my LGS yesterday, in anticipation of the poor things being dropped to skirmish level.

just bought the chronos box set last week from a store in Namur, i was inspired !

I think six chronos should be enough for most games

I'm hoping for at least 6 Chronos (probably more like 8) for my fleet.
That and 4 Myrmidons should be plenty of escort type ships to help protect the larger ships.

I also checked out the prices with Matt yesterday (Thanks Matt!), and most of the prices on the site were correct, but the fleet boxes are still £55.
