Pre-release Bug cards

Well, at least they have Target 6.
Means half losses against Moritas compared to Warriors.
Not that bad.

Yes... but the losses begin to even out with just about any other weapon that isn't D6 damage.

Eh... I'll just let you guys try it and see. No point arguing until everyone has tried it out. :)

Argh. Non-tunneling Brain Bug. That's just silly.
How are you supposed to defend this thing?
It'll be dead in 2nd turn.

On the other hand how are you supposed to kill brain bug in tunnels?

Hmmmm...... tunneling was what our group felt set SST apart from the rest, now it's no different to drop pods or deep strike in 'other' games.
Definately starting to feel that the differences that made SST stand out are vanishing. Tunneling (and countering it) was a major part of any game plan, now it's just a random dice roll.

Then again how much stuff you CAN cram into those cards...Try to fit V1 tunneling rules into every card

I wouldn't be suprised if original tunneling rules(or tweaked version) would come with the full rulebook. Feels more natural place for them than in each tunneling units cards...

Do MI still get emplacement assets? Surely this makes them pointless as you just send a tunneller to each, no chance of stopping it now.

You sent tunnelers to emplacement assets before as well...Where's the change?

Well, they weren't really dangerous in tunnels. But it just feels completely wrong to have these squishy things snurking around over ground.
btw is has now Kill 11! Is this a brain bug or a tank?

If they weren't really dangerous in tunnels and dead on board why then people scrambled over to get one...Certainly not for quality of model . Think it ended up with more green stuff than lead

Doesnt sound like anyone whos ever played against bugs...

And all I've ever seen you concentrate on is telling people not to be negative

So. If they aren't dangeous in tunnels and dead in 2 turns if aboard(like said in this thread) why people use them?

Maybe because one or both statements are incorrect...Brain bugs are darned dangerous wether they are in tunnel or out of tunnel(their main function doesn't depend at all on where they are...If you had big enough board they could be 1km away and they would STILL be dangerous...). And they aren't death trap out of tunnels either(though albeit they tend to go in tunnels just in case some nuke wielding drop podding spoil sport decides to come around).

coordinate is absolutely superb :) simple as that. Keeps the other player on his toes as you can't count on anything at all. Getting it above ground and popping off some psychic powers is a bonus.

Still can't see much use for tigers...... in fact, can't see much use for anything but workers, statistically, nothing compares. Particularly with the tunneling rules on the card.
