Pre-Order status should come FIRST ...Mongoose Pub!!!

....I started to use FRP games pub to order stuff, but felt going to such places like Hero Systems Games or Mongoose Pub itself would be better and does the publisher make the MOST money from those sails...with NO MIddle Men? Why the attitude about not wanting to do sales, is beyond me there!....

Should Mongoose have a trucking service that delivers orders directly to customers thus eliminating one more middle man? (No UPS, Fed-Ex, or other delivery service) Should they do logging and produce the paper used in the books themselves? Ok, thats a bit silly of me, but I hope you get the point.

Mongoose can chime in, but I believe that, just like many businesses, they would rather concentrate on their core business and not have to worry about warehousing, order tracking, packing and shipping. Let the folks who do exactly that as their core business handle things - they can probably do it more efficiently.

Just a couple of detailed reasons:
- Think about the inconsistencies of manpower needs between releases for mongoose as compared to a large distributor of thousands of products. Mongoose may have to hire less skilled temp workers during high volume, lay off personnel during lulls, or be paying people to do nothing in between high volume periods.
- Companies who ship more get larger discounts on shipping costs and reduced costs for shipping materials due to volume.

Anyway I can see your point but bottom line they keep or make more for the sale of their own book, then selling it to a middle man to sell for them.

There simply were not enough books to go round (as it stands, I personally have yet to see a Spinward Marches myself, and I own the company!).

This makes me a little bit pessimistic with regard to my chances of getting this book over here on the continent.

Perhaps you should print some more copies - rapidly ...
