Playing Traveller over skype

The Chef

Mongoose
Hi all,

New to the boards (so i hope i've put this in the right section). have just bought the traveller rule book, though i grew up with classic/mega/2300.

Unfortunately my gaming group is spread thought the UK and as far as New Zeland, however, i as games master have been tasked in finding a way of playing on line.

I'm quite happy set up a confrence on skype for all of us to be there, but my main worry are dicing conventions. Do we use a webcam to show dice rolls, do you know of any dice rollers online that would surfice (we would all need to see the rolls as some of my gamers are not that trustworthy with results)

do any of you have to play games online and if so how do you go about doing it.

many thanks

Chef

4 VTT's (Virtual tabletops) below. There are more, but after much work/research on them I have found these to be the best available in my opinion. The 1st 2 are free, the last 2 are purchasable. They have die roll functions, as well as mapping/tokens and many many other features. I am just starting to dig into a couple of them now.

Hope this helps.

You could all group up and use an online chat service.

- Yahoo Messanger command '/roll'

- AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) '//roll' see http://www.ehow.com/how_4499376_roll-dice-aim.html

I'm actually running a campaign using Skype and ScreenMonkey.

Works well enough, and with SM I can use it as a background screen (by loading any jpeg image)

It also has its own chat system which can be handy as well.

Take care

I'm in the process of putting together a ruleset for Fantasy Grounds. I'm a ways off still, but here's a pic of the partially completed character sheet.

I play in a regular group that uses Skype alongside rptools maptools, in the US, and it is most enjoyable. Very close to the tabletop experience.

Nz. This is cool. Are there a lot of Traveller fans in NZ?
