Players Guide to Glorantha cover art

It's not that bad. The gloranta book cover is much worse. These covers should shout "glorantha"! but ufortunately they don't. I would prefer lower quality art, if it had more of the glorantha feel, but so far I haven't seen too much MRQ art except the glorantha aldryami picture which got that.

Man, I loved that stuff. Those artists are getting biggest hugs and kisses from me (or the email equivalent...) as soon as I paw through the whole book.

When you said "these covers should shout out Glorantha!" I thought you meant all the covers that were announced/previewed already, not just the Second Age corebook and the Player's Guide.

I would have to agree that the central art looks good (well better than that actually), but I do think black and white marble is a good idea. I guess that will be a personal preference thing. Overall it feels like classical Glorantha in every sense.

The only exception is the worrying possibility that Gloranthan Trolls now have pig-snouts. Just say NO!

The Player's Guide to Glorantha's cover doesn't seem great. Like the others, I'm going to hold my breath and wait to see the real thing when it comes out.

The Lankhmar cover looks good to me. I like the dark tone of the art. It spells "Lankhmar" to me.

The "snout" of trolls is like the snout of dolphins. Cavities within the snout are involved in the sonar (dark sense). Grr...

It's hard to say much, since the maximum size we get to see is pretty small. It looks pretty ok to me, so far.

Uz' darksense is gone and replaced with "Dark Sight". With "Dark Sight", they get -40% to vison based Perception tests and a -1m penalty to movement. It didn't sound like a sonar to me, but if you say so I belive you. Probably got a bit damage when it was transfered to a pig-face. :wink:

Still coming down in favor of the classic troll snout (spent too much time on my rant to take it back now).

Glad to see sonar is back in the UZ book - and I'm sure the Uz are too! I bet the Sazdorf are tired of stumbling and tripping around in the Haunted Ruins ("Dis uzed to seem so eazy to find my wayz around before - I don know whut happened!)

It was just an observation. I have a big rant against the pig snout on the Glorantha Book Cover art thread.
