How would, or where would one start a play by post game here at Mongoose?

Currently I do play by post at another Traveller site but since my game concept is centered around gaining familiarity with the Mongoose Traveller combat rules I thought maybe it should be here...

I see an Online Games section and one Traveller game: Antares Red Light. It looks like that section is for the one game only. I see no method of creating a new topic (IE new PBP) under Online Games.
 
It seams that there is not a lot of support/interest in PBP at this site. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there some other method (free) of on line play that is common? If so, please point me in the right direction.

I think OpenRPG is free... now I just have to find the site for it.

COTI has several going, and allows any Traveller related games to be played PBP. Travellerrpg.com

I have seen other types of games run on Hero central (other than Hero system games)
it is free but they do take donations
Hero central has a die roller that posts the results after you save the thread and it gets emailed to all the players so it is blind to all till after posting

Interesting.
One step better than PbP forums alone.
Personally I want to consolidate Travellers though and not send them to the far corners of the Universe - see my next post.
 
I was trying to "test the waters" with my post regarding PbP here on Mongoose. I thought that perhaps this should be the one stop location for all things MGT related.

Yes, I can contact someone here at mongoose to get a PbP started here. The fact that Mongoose, with all the games they support, does not have a mechanism in place for people to create a new PbPs and does not have very much activity in their PbP section is an indicator to me that this may not be the right location.

There is another web site known for supporting all versions of Traveller PbP and forums.

Since response was not overwhelming, at this time, I am getting involved in another PbP as a character so I'm not as inclined to GM one.

When I am ready to GM a PbP it will probably be at the web site mentioned in other peoples posts above and I will contact someone from Mongoose to ask permission to post here pointing players to the other site.

For those of you mentioning PbP sites that don't cater to Traveller already, I hope you understand my desire to try and keep the Travellers together at one, or at least as few as possible locations.

I am also interested in any well known locations where Travellers gather for free "real time" play.
 
Well, perhaps I was a bit hasty.

Even with just one person there is something I might do here on the Mongoose forums. I am trying to get the person from the other web site involved too.

So Ommadawn, let me know if you are interested in something I'll call Mongoose Traveller - Character Generation for Dummies.

It will be a step by step character generation process. Something like the character creation example of Alexander Jamison on pages 38-40 but with more reference to the rules and the Character Generation Checklist on page 5.

There could possibly be a quick combat thrown in to roleplay how you got a certain skill.

It could be called a PbP but it will not be an adventure. Alternatively we could do it in a chat room and post the results here.
