Plasma, Particle and Fusion weapons on Small Craft?

The High Technology chapter has Plasma, Particle and Fusion weapons. Can they be mounted on turrets or fixed mounts, or do they require barbettes? May small craft mount them? Please clarify.

The High technology chapter weapons are listed as turrets. They 'could' be placed on small craft as fixed mount weapons but their power usage would make them difficult to use effectively.

And barbettes are still mountable on small-craft from my understanding - both from previous edition rules, and cannon (where you have fusion armed fighters for example )

A Hardpoint on a small craft must be a fixed mount (typically forward-facing, but there is no requirement for this).

Yeah not clearly mutually exclusive - nor do we want it to be. Power and hard points are the determining factor. Unless the PTB suddenly is retconning fusion fighters and so on.

You also want smallcraft to have viable options, and some teeth. Otherwise we end up with mostly empty small-craft, especially in the 30-ton plus range (due to m-drives taking no space, and turrets being cheap).
