Plans for Blood Magic?

Mongoose
I was really looking forward to the Blood Magic supplement for RQII, but it appears to have been sucked into the whirlpool of the conversion from RQII to Legend.

Can anyone shed light on the plans for Blood Magic? If its fate is unclear, what would have to happen for Mongoose to decide to publish it? Or is there a chance that it could be published as a PDF instead of hard copy?

Thanks for any insight or update that you can provide.

Yeah this was a product I was very interested in seeing. I would love to hear if there are plans for its release.

I didn't know that this product was on the schedule at some point. What was the concept behind it?

It provided a variant way to fuel magic, replacing the POW dedication and Magic Point economy of the core rules with a blood sacrifice economy - either your own or someone else's - still ultimately generating/expending magic points BTW. Along the way the draft also revisited the Concert Casting rules you can find in Spellcom (which is also well worth picking up for the additional magic and enchantment options it provides) and other magic variants for alchemy, temporary enchantments, animism, fetishism etc.

All in all, interesting content with lots of ideas that could be incorporated in many campaigns - so a shame it doesn't seem to be on any release list any more. I notice that Design Mechanism are planning to put out Monster Island for RQ6, which was the other book that disappeared when the Mongoose/Issaries/Pete&Loz break happened, but there's been no mention of this one.

Might be the first in a line of 'alternate' magic books which in themselves might be declared another OGL line...

Have to see how things go.

Interesting. Do you have any ideas about other styles of magic that you would like to cover after Blood Magic? I presume that you are using that product to test the waters...
