I remeber the day the LT discovered that the cable to the printer was the same ne that went to the computer. Only the Printer cable cost $20, and the one to the fire control computer cost $350. And in the manuel it even said they where interchangable.

Of course there is also the thing about coffee pots. Somebody was whacking on the US Air Force for spending $1600 on coffee pots on its aircraft. Then it was pointedout tat Boeing spends$1800 on the same coffee pot. It seems by the time you cover all the safty regs, it gets very expensive.

Anyway, thanks for the upgrade on the gazelle. I dont like the MGT version withpout the barbettes.

Absolutely correct. I work for an airline and we pay a couple thousand dollars per coffee pot. Of course it isn't your standard Mr. Coffee...

Airline coffee pots have to be able to handle crash loads, depressurizations, fires etc without exploding. They have to make coffee at a variety of angles (during takeoff and landing) and not spill anything. Also, they make about 2 dozen pots of coffee per day, every day.

They last about 3-5 months then have to come off due to overuse.

Most of the designs use a pressurized tank to heat the water, so that has to have safety valves etc.

All of that has to be redundant so that it "fails safe".
