Personal damage question

Do your stat DMs go down as you take damage? It doesn't explicitly say that but it seems to infer it in one of the descriptions.

Also, what happens when a surgery check is failed? Do they get to try again? Is there anything the character can do to survive?

I would suggest your stat DM does decrease as it goes down due to damage. That then makes sense why they designed the stat block in the character sheet the way they did, so you can mark off and keep track of your DMs.

I haven't read the surgery notes yet.
