paper miniatures?

Can anyone suggest a good source of paper minis? I know SJG used to do a traveller set, but alas, they seem to be mostly gone.

I'd really like digital pdf minis, so I can print them out on shrinky-dink to give them a little more substance. Real paper ones would do too.

The best thing I've found so far are the sci-fi mini's by OneMonk, available on rpgnow.com for free. http://www.rpgnow.com/index.php?filters=0_0_0_0_0&manufacturers_id=2352

I'm not against buying a set, I just haven't found anything that stands out yet.

Cumberland Games Sparks Paper miniatures are good. B&W line are presented as a font, with upper and lower case as the front and back of a standup, so if you want a whole page of, say, space marines, you just print out loads.

I've looked at all of these, and already have downloaded everything from OneMonk I'm interested in. I was tempted by the disposable heroes until I found...

A pretty brilliant set by a guy named scarecrow. Sadly, he doesn't seem to think much of MGT.

He's got a set of traveller specific (aslan, hiver, zhodani, droyne) as well as some stargate and dr who stuff.

also a pretty neat mini generator for star trek, which could probably be used to make some cool custom minis for any setting.

You can find them if you want them hard enough. Not Beowulf, probably, but others can be found. I've just grabbed the sets to complete my collection!
Besides, the deck plans are great. Especially Empress Marava, where you can setup even a large-scale combat :)

I just recently figured out the deckplans come with figures... does every deckplan have a different set of figures?

Also does anyone know of any material (minatures or just illustrations) depicting bwaps?
I seem to remember that MegaMiniatures once announced Bwap minis,
but I am not sure whether they actually produced them, and whether
they are still available anywhere.

As for illustrations, GURPS Traveller Alien Races 4 should have some.
I do not know that supplement, but normally all races described in one
of those supplements also get a few illustrations, and I would be very
surprised if the Bwaps would be the exception.

The three deckplans (Beowulf, Scout and Assault Cutter) I have all did. Can't speak for the rest of them.

They do. The SJG GM screen also has a sheet of generic characters and a plan of a starport bar, Bruebecks.

Does anybody know where to find the Cardboard Heroes' Bases? Or something like that?

If you don't mind buying 1000 or more at the same time, there are a couple of other places to get some deals - like $70 for 1000

Leisure Games sells bases for paper minis here:
http://www.leisuregames.com/acatalog/Main_Catalogue_ACCESSORIES_1356.html

Look for:
Plastic Card Stand type CS1 (pack of 10)
Plastic Card Stand type CS2 (pack of 10)

Only 50p for 10

He doesn't seem to have them on his site any more. Pity.

I did see a useful suggestion somewhere for a cheap source of good bases for these: any local office supply store. Get a bulk pack of those black metal binder clips - we called 'em "bulldog clips" where and when I was growing up - put your paper mini in the clip, remove the wire open/close widgets, et viola! a paper minifig base! Useful, because they come in various sizes - the small ones work for characters, medium ones could be used for mounts and/or vehicles (or I suppose you could use two clips, one on either end of the mini), and so on.
