Pak Colors?

Anyone painting up a Pak fleet? What colors are you going with? I'll be staying away from canary yellow but thought a fleshy color with the right secondary colors might look OK...advice?

I saw, um, Triggys fleet I think it was in a nice Emerald and Bronze, wasn't finished but looked nice and distinctive.

Hash has some pics of them from the tourney, they should be up somewhere by Friday I think he said

um, i honestly can't remember, Hash is doing a writeup to i think so all available.

i'm still looking seriously at these little scavengers, I'm thinking of patchwork. With the descriptions of what they do to ships, I may paint patches of bare metal, and patches of original race colors on the refit ships, with a splotch of yellow where they painted one panel so they would have a field to put the Pak emblem on. Heavily weathered/worn yellow for the Pak built ships.

sound both good and fitting when yoiu think how their ships came to be - got bits of other peoples ships and put them together, do surely the pak fleet would be full of one offs where they only got one weapon system or one bit of other ship?

Try a heavy drybrush of GW Bubonic Brown (very yellow sickly browny colour) with a flesh wash and a light drybrush of yellow over the top. This gives you a worn off yellow, kinda colour of vomitish effect with patchy bits. Seems to work ok for the Pak.

iv gone with just a simple gw fortress grey with a watered down choas black with a dry brush of fortress grey.
i just want them to look like merchantmen, no flashy colour schemes just business like blandness.

Mine are dirty silver with bronze panels here and there, especially on ships bought from other races. To stop them being too dull to look at I painted the cock pit like area on the fighters and super merchants a rich blue as it provides a good contrast.

Hey, as stated my fleet are emerald (Dark Angels Green) / bronze (Dwarf Bronze) with identifying marks in other colours. Unfortunately due to the rush I have the other colours in bright primaries without a chance to tone the look down so they look a little garish at the moment. However the basic colour scheme works.

As for how the fleet plays, they seem to be able to unleash an initial barrange and can take reasonable amounts of damage but can find it hard to come about and finish off enemy ships if they want to leg it away. Overall they seem pretty balanced (and work better with a couple of Vaarls to support them, as do most fleets) and finished 6th of 14 at the event.

I tell you what colours don't work.
I was started my Dilgar fleet so i thought Scorpion green & Orange for Cresent symbols, argh was it ugly & looked like 3 yr old had painted it.
Black spray is awesome killed that abomination.
Never again.
