Sorry I missed out on a chance to suggest this earlier in the process, but if P&P is going to be improving subpar ships, I nominate the Oretes as another one that needs a little oophm.
While conceptually it should remain inferior to the Omega, its ultimately a Battle ship and should be equivalent.
Personally I would suggest giving it a turreted missle launcher- say 4 dice. Its useful, fits with the Early Years list and could have been left out of for the beamier Omega.
