Old RQ Spirits

I know it's a new game and new rules and all, but have Mongoose dropped power spirits and intellect spirits?

I looked through an old RQ3 - Avalon Hill, boxed set, five little books - and noticed that they had passion spirits (fear, madness etc), power spirits and intellect spirits, among other things.

Did they drop those spirit types or simply neglect to make them available in their old RQ sourcebooks? And what of Legend?

It might just because Legend Spirit Magic doesn't really work with things like Power Spirits, Intellect Spirits and Magic Spirits.

However, I'd just include them as they are in RQ3.

The existence of certain spirit types is more an attribute of a game world than of a rule system. MRQ reduces the need for accessory spirits, presumably so that the rules are usable in a context where such things are not present, e.g. Young Kingdoms, Wraith Recon, Conanesqueland, etc. so reintroducing them "because they were in a Glorantha / fantasy Europe game" is a little unnecessary.

From a Gloranthan cosmology point of view, it has been speculated that POW and INT spirits are the sundered fragments of the shattered souls of dead God Learners, thus explaining why they are present in the Third Age but not the Second Age.

There always were alternatives to walking around with a keying full of spirits, Sandy Petersen's sorcery rules gave 1d10 MPs per POW point for Magic Point Matrix Enchantment.
