Send me an e-mail to NAS_Enterprises_uk@Yahoo.co.uk and I'll send you back a zip by return. This is a try-before-you-buy version and you are limited to Human Barbarians as a Race and Culture.

If someone can tell me how, I can put the zip on the forum so it can be downloaded. That way you only need to contact me if you want to buy the full version (which will cost you £5.00. This is for my time and not for the content.) and/or any updates.

Got the Save as .txt working, added Hit locations and Armour.

Just send me an e-mail if you want to have a look at the free-view version. (Some constructive critism would be useful.)

Now added experience from the RuneQuest manual for Novice, Seasoned, Veteran, Master and Hero as well as aging options.

Although a keen idea, I prefer the hand method. Runequest is not that complicated as to making NPC's.

Also, I rarely if at all get trial software.

When does it go on sale completed?
What are the system specs?
Any known issues with certain versions of windows?
Any kinks currently?

HOW MUCH?

It's not actually Trial software (as in Alpha/Beta versions) rather its software you can try before you buy. I used to hate buying software that didn't match up to its blurb so I decided to write stuff that was a full version (with limited data options) so that users could see what it did before handing over their hard earned cash.

I imagine it will never be finished, there will always be something more to add. Currently it's upto date with the Manual and the Companion. I ummed and arhed about the cults and decided to write a character generator before getting too immersed in it. (The PC program is just having the equipment section fine tuned before that gets posted.) There is a regular update of the lastest program(s) sent out by e-mail so when Humans are finally finished I'll be adding Elves, Dwarves, Ducks, etc all (hopefully) with input from your good selves.

It works on all versions of windows since 95 (I can't check it on 3.1 because I can't find a machine still running it) and I have the neccessary dll's that may be needed for 95 and early 98 versions (free with instructions). It's written in VB6 on a XP laptop so the only downside is those people with older laptops may lose a bit of screen detail (I'm using most of the 1024 x 768 screen). It doesn't use any fancy graphics and has no sound so it doesn't matter how many gigs that your 3d/sound card has.

Current plans for improvement include: Print Out options (Verticle/ Horizontal stats), Cult membership, Equipment (rather than just weapons & armour), mounts, Loot (monetery and Magical), Sorcery (and other magic methods), etc. Added to this is the ability to create your own races, cultures and professions by copying the data files (although you need to have paid to use anything other than Human Barbarian). You can add your own weapons and armour types, Rune Magic types and Rune spells. And you can do all this with NotePad or Wordpad.

As to how much. Well when you think of the time taken to code the program(s), my long suffering wife (who understands that the phase "I'll only be a minute" (causually uttered at 7pm) really means "I'll see you in the morning"). Not to mention the time you'll save in generating pages of NPC's (with full stats). When you add it all up I don't think £5.00 (GBP) too much to ask.

E-mail me and find out for youself. It'll cost you nothing to try and you never know, you may just find it useful.

My hat goes off to you, and I know how much work goes into it. TRUST ME...

It was not meant to be condescending.

I have download free trials before, and got more than what I wanted and more junk on the computer than I wanted.

When it gets a little more detailed, I will most assuredly get it...

How much in US Currency.

All of my stuff goes into a single directory which can be deleted and its gone. I know what you mean about getting more than you asked for when you download something which is one of the reasons that I do not update the computer registry.

I think the current rate of exchange makes it $10 (USD) or there abouts.
