Not impressed with new ISA models what's the consensus?

Maybe I'm be a prat but it seems like the more ISA models that come out the more disappointed I'm getting.

Is it me or do other folks think that the new ISA ships (ISA carrier, White Star Gunship, Blue Star) just don't measure up?

Even the new Drakh carrier doesn't look really Drakh from what I've seen? I'm curious how others feel? I would have thought that with the new ships they'd move away from the white star form factor for something completely new.

I'm suggesting maybe Mongoose should start opening it's doors to fan based submissions for ship ideas? Let fans with new ideas start putting designs out there. So far I've not been real impressed with the new Mongoose designs.

I've stopped buying alot of the new ships out of lack of interest.

I agree on the Drakh carrier, just doesn't fit.

I like the Blue Star though

Amen, brother I'm with you 100% I suggested the same thing as well. The last B5 mini I got was prelude_to_war's EA Nike ship. But for the most part the minis have been getting a pretty good response so we're of the minority.

I have no doubt that if you submitted ship designs Mongoose would have a look.
Also Mongoose did attempt to contact the designer of the Nike, however nothing came of it.
I also like the Bluestar! :)
So if you have "Better" designs that You own, contact Mongoose.

I agree with you for the most part but I do like the Bluestar. And the redone Vree ship. And the Brakkiri scout cruiser. And the Nolotar (though like many others Id prefer it if it was half the size and came in a pack of two maybe?).

I also like the Technomage Pinnace though its hadly a dificult ship to model really :P

The Blue Star is a canon ship, so you can't really moan about that, and for such a small model it looks ok to me. Thw White Star Gunship and Carrier, yeah, I wouldn't have bothered with those. The whole concept doesn't really sit right with me.

Since the Blue Star and the Nolo´Tar are taken from the sreies/B5 movies, they are as much ISA as any ship can hope to be.

The idea behind the gunship and the carrier is ok, the miniatures however are sadly part of the "Armageddon tragedy" in design and details (or lack thereof).

Apart from that, I´m happy with most of the new miniatures.

I'd rather have seen the Valen-class than the White Star Gunship for a higher level ISA ship. That it's coming anyway is something, after all, we don't have to use ships we don't like, but I reckon these White Star variants are a bit dubious. The White Star's strength was its size and agility; beefing it up to be bigger and meaner goes against the grain.

Nah Im more the opposite on the Carrier and fighters. I dont actually mind the minis its just the whole Idea I dislike. The gunship I dont actually mind the concept behind (its just slightly bigger upgunned whitestar) but the mini has that 'grin'.

The No'Tolo as I said before, is nice and DOES look like the ship from Legend (regardless of your oppinion of the movie its still canon). I just feel that it would be better if it were scaled down a bit.

Same here - I always thought it should be more the size of a Halik.

The WS gunship is ok in my book, it´s not a big step from the classic WS to an upgunned version. The one thing that keeps me from getting me one is that I´m not overly fond of the miniature)

The carrier however... too big (why does it have dodge when the Nolo´Tar doesn´t?), too chunky and messed up details (although Shadow Queen´s looked pretty pretty).

To be fair, I don't think it's just the ISA that are getting bad sculpts.
I haven't been impressed with about 90% of the minis that have come out since the Dilgar. I think they were the last batch of good minis produced (and I may be wrong, but weren't they from pre-existing molds?)
I definitely think Mongoose need to get themselves a couple of new Sculptors for ACTA

think MP did 3-4 of their own Dilgar designs, the rest are from AOG... it`s easy to see which ones are which as well.

Mongoose`s output has at best been patchy (being generous here btw) with regard to design and implimentation.

could do so much better, time will tell as always.

Since Mongoose announced that they've taken mould making in house, there has been a huge improvement.
There needed to be!
Also most forum members have expressed a desire for more detail on the new "in house" ships .
All in All, things are improving and need to continue :)

i`ll happily admit to being plesantly surprised by the last lot; Brakiri, Myrm (EA??!!?) & Bluestar from a looks standpoint... little light on detailing but ok.

if those were designed & built in house and stay at that level then they would have laid a good base for the future.

For me the true test will be the new Drakh Carrier (which I'm interested in as long as it no longer looks like an 'adult toy') and the New Drakh Mothership (which i think is a fairytale)

i don't like any of the drakh to be honest (no offence ment to those who have drakh) and the white star gunship looks weak (which is quite fitting with its damage and crew levels) and i don't like the nolo'tar because of the LotR film but the white star looks really nice, as do the white star fighters and the carrier looks much better in the flesh so to speak than in pictures.
