Not defending

How are Success Levels and Combat Manoeuvres handled when the defender does not defend, either through not wishing to use a CA (and perhaps strong armor, defensive magic) or through not having CAs to use.

Found the rule myself right after I posted.

If the defender does not roll defense, it is treated the same as if he/she/it rolled a failure.

In a way, it suggests that if you have a high degree of confidence you will fail your defense for whatever reason, it is safer to just not defend at all and take the blow....thus avoiding the 2% chance you fumble....!

Offhand, though, metagaming aside, getting stabbed while standing there is still a bigger risk per se than a 2% fumble rate, though...heh....!
