I just seen an advertisement for Traveller 2022 Core Rule Book and while I love mongoose’s Traveller 2 the add need to get pulled and fixed. It states that Traveller was the first Sci-fi RPG which is categorically false. Traveller is actually the third published TTRPG with Starfaring being first and metamorphosis alpha being second. Please fix this because false advertising is not a good look for mongoose

Probably fixable with a single adjective. Maybe "successful" or "generic" after "first".

Can you tell me where you saw this? This should have been fixed a while ago...

Who cares about two games no one remembers? This is inconsequential. I think it popped up on Facebook.

No-one remembers Metamorphasis Alpha? I find that hard to believe, It's Sixth Edition was only released in 2021, and the ownership only went to a new publisher at the end of 2024 after James Ward died.

I think “no-one” is a fair enough approximation. I’d be surprised if more than 1% of the TTRPG community is aware of MA.

Pretty sure I have both in a box that I got from a friend who had to move into a smaller place. Also have Bloodtree Rebellion in there (yes, that's mostly non-sequitur, but a GDW game I would not otherwise have).

I'd never heard of Starfaring before then either, but I do have two editions of Metamorphasis Alpha (and three of Gamma World)
