Non-human books titles

Hello

i am the only one to find it odd that the non-human books titles are getting screwed up?

The book on Trolls is called (at least on the cover)
"Uz - The Guide to Trolls"

The Dragonewt book is announced as
"Dragonewts: Guide to the Eravsshar"

The Aldryami book will be called (according to the cover uploaded recently)
"Elfs: A Guide to the Aldryami"

I would have liked to see a pattern in the titles, like
"Uz - The Guide to Trolls"
"Eravsshar - The Guide to Dragonewts"
"Aldryami - The Guide to Elves"

OR the other way around, but it is to late to change the troll book title. :-)

What do YOU think?

I'm intrigued as to where the 'Eravsharr' bit comes from.

Its not a name or title I've used in the Dragonewt book... I shall have to do some digging about.

For me the word "Eravsshar" was also news. I thought that this might be new invented name for Gloranthan Dragonewts.

I have no clue if the author made it up by himself, or if Greg was involved.
But it sounds logical to have a REAL species name, instead the descriptive one only.
Same was done with the Ducks/Durulz.

By the way:
Now that Secapture Games (sp.?) will come up with a gereric fantasy RQ Duck book, will we get a gloranthan duck book from Mongoose?

"Durulz - The Guide to Ducks" ?

I'm the author, and its not a name I came up with! Neither did Greg (to the very best of my knowledge). It isn't a problem, BTW (unless Greg violently disagrees), and agree that each species needs its own name, but I wonder if Eravsshar is authentic in Auld Wyrmish terms? Most dragonewt names for things are long and convoluted (Oranambulost, for instance), and reflect the influence of the draconic cycle. If I was to give the dragonewts their own name, it would reflect the Oroburos mantra. That said, the dragonewts are such a complicated species, and with a clear delineation between their different life stages, there wouldn't be a single species title, but several.

But, I can live with Eravsshar, and I've posed the question as to its origin to my editor-in-chief, so when I have an explanation I'll happily share it.

What about my other question:

Do you write a Duck book? :-)

Or you could ask John Hughes, who has threatened us to do so one time.

Anything's possible! It's not on my production radar as yet, buy who knows...

What is in the Title is not as important as what the book covers. As far as I am concerned, they call it "A guide to big, ugly, brute thingys". As long as it covered trolls, I would get it...

Despite not quite being spelt correctly (I will have to ensure the final book is right...) the term is the word dragonewts use to describe themselves.

It did come from Greg (we asked...) :)

It will follow the Uz: A guide to trolls format for the title (as will elfs, timinits, short stunty things that like stone, and any others we might be doing (aside from elfs and dragonewts I have no idea as to what will follow in the longer term)

If elfs follows the title of the Uz book, does that mean that the already uploaded elf book cover will be changed to the correct title?

Never belive pictures uploaded by Mongoose...

Got my copy of the Uz/Troll book yesterday, and the printed book says:

"Trolls - A Guide to the Uz"

so the Elf book title matches the patterns of this one.

Maybe Mongoose should update the Uz/Troll book cover picture online?
