Noble Houses and Corporations?

Hi all,

I'm currently running a Traveller game that is pretty much created on the fly, firmly in My Traveller Universe. But I'd like to inject a little more official flavor.

Does anyone know if there is a single place online or a Traveller PDF where I can get a list of the Imperium Noble Houses and Corporations? I've got big ideas with little Traveller background.

The best sources I know of are some GURPS Traveller books, for exam-
ple Behind the Claw for the corporations active in the Spinward Marches,
and Nobles for the Imperial nobility.

However, I have no idea whether these are already available as PDFs, or
still in print and therefore only available as more expensive dead tree pro-
ducts.

Yah, GURPS Traveller: Nobles is chockers full of stuff about the Imperial nobility, summaries of the most important ones (including Strephon) and how it all works. I dunno if it's on PDF from e23 but if you're into that sort of thing then it's great.

For corporations I would suggest BITS 101 Corporations which includes many companies that were created by people in the Traveller community, including myself...

At the risk of starting an old fire, but to honestly answer your question on getting a more "OFFICIAL flavor", you can get CD-ROMS with the PDFs for Classic (Original) Traveller, and MegaTraveller from Far Future Ent. (www.farfuture.com) along with all the original issues of JTAS. The New Era and T4 are available as Ebooks at www.drivethruRPG.com

According to Marc Miller (creator/owner of Traveller) and the GURPS line editor for SJ Games, all the GURPS:Traveller stuff is really neat and a good reference but NOT official.

That being said, yes the GURPS:Traveller books have some great official-feeling background and fluff, and are based in the official-materials and so should help you quite a bit. Pretty much all of them can be bought as PDFs on the SJ Games website's electronic store "e23" (http://e23.sjgames.com/). I think they are like $10 each now.
