NNA(Newb in Need of Assiastance)

Wow, what a way to drag stuff from one thread into another.

I don't know why you're all stuffy about something like that. I was speaking in a friendly manner discussing new rules and new tactics. How is that some kind of insult?

And actually, to be frank, you didn't know exactly what you were talking about. Matt came into the thread and basically told you, and everyone outright that he had material that he hasn't showed even the playtesters, stuff that countered one of your arguments in the very same thread. Do you deny that?

So in the future, please keep your personal attacks at least in the thread that they originated. And next time if you have a problem with me, take it up with me before you go spreading it over the forums. That is pretty childish if you think about it.

The BFE release has brought on a ton of hostility to these forums and being passive aggressive against someone, especially coming from an official playtester, is really going to bring the quality of these forums down.

Turtle...

There's never any reason whatsoever to take Hiromoon seriously... none... zilch... zip... nada... zero...

Take it as a sign of affection that he took the time to make fun of you. Of ALL the people on the forums he could make fun of... he chose you. You should feel special :)

I think this post might even get you a rolled up newspaper :)

In all seriousness though, we probably do have at least 90% of the rules down pretty solid at this point, and most of the likely variations are known by/being discussed by the playtesters now, so there aren't going to be any huge deviations from what we already have right now. If a post or idea surprises a playtester, it probably means it won't be in the game. That's not to be mean, it's just saying that that isn't the direction the game is going.

It's always nice to muse though. I had no problem with what you said before.

Bah, I'm still just PO'ed over a lot of other stuff happening in the forums.

So, I'll just apologize for my previous post right here.

ok so its not a bad idea then to get into this game now? or should i wait for the new stuff?

Depends do you want to paint or not. If not then wait for evo. If you don't mind painting you can start building your armies as it is. It's not like SST:Evo is going to invalidate your units/models(despite some people inventing rumours to the contrary here).

If you(and your playing group) need both arachnids and cap trooppers then starter sets are very good deal. Nevermind changing rules you get the models themselves at discount compared to buying them separatly . Effectively you get discount if you are willing to take the rulebook with it

You can then start expanding from those.

If none plays MI's but instead say arachnid/skinnie combination it gets bit trickier for wether to get starter set or not concidering soon to be released SST:evo.

Seeing as how all your questions have been answered already. I would personally like to say welcome to the forums, starship troopers, and continuos jokes :P . It's always great to see more fresh meat for the grinder :D . Like you, I used to play 40k prior to sst, however I found its rules, miniatures and feel better. Even though I play sst, however I can still find myself buying tyranids still though
