This has reminded me, I worked on an "additional US Navy Ships" article but I don't think its been published yet. Ships covered in there were:

Evarts class destroyer escort
APD class attack transport
Somers class destroyer
Benson/Gleaves class destroyer

Mahan class destroyer
Farragut class destroyer
Allen M Sumner class destroyer
Gearing class destroyer

I'll spruce up tha article and make sure it goes in ASAP. I take it you've seen the stuff I've done for other smaller fleets such as Sweden, Argentina, Holland and Poland?
