New to GoMC1

Also, don't underestimate the street gang sprues from Mongoose. I love creating gangs just from them, or adding some heads from old GW ranges when I need something a little different.

There are loads more, but that should get you started.

Great list of options there Arabin, and you are right about the street gang sprues being a good option. They are dirt cheap, and being multipart means that you have lots of options. The only thing thing that I really don't like about them is that they are not the same scale as the rest of the minis. It seems like the plastics tower over even the other minis from the JD line.

Am I just crazy (entirely possible at this point...) or are other people annoyed by this as well? Not that it will change anything; just curious if I am nuts.

You are not crazy. The GOMC1 line of minis really struggles to maintain a consistent scale. The 3 pack with Citi=Def Soldier, Citi-Def Officer and Med-Tek seems to be at a very large scale... they tower over all other (except the Klegg and the fattie, obviosly), but then you look at the later releases like the 3 pack with Jimp, Pyrokinetic, and Sov Spy and these guys are really tiny.

It did bug me a lot initially, but I've bought so many minis from other places now, that I have options for most specialists etc.

There are a few minis that it's hard to find extras for, that only Mongoose ,or Foundry, could release... and Foundry is out of my price range. I still wish we had a female fattie, female judge on lawmaster, and more options for most judges. We have 3 street (4 with Dredd), two riot, but only one of each of the others. Heroclix works for another couple (Dredd, Hershey, Anderson, Brit-Cit, dark judges).

Foundry do a large range of very good (but also exploitively expensive) 2000AD characters.
Theres also the old GW ones if you really want some (though the foundry ones are much better).
Theres INDY heroclix for some of them too.

Just look out on ebay. :)

And even then, if you really want to have something new, why don't you try and invent things? I'm about to propose a new specialist to be published in S&P (if they'll take it, that is).

Done!
I just send my article to Ian Barstow.
Feverishly waiting for an answer... that might be negative (my last entry was rejected... )

I bet there are plenty of people on the forums that would like to see it anyway, rejected or not.

Any chance of seeing the rejected one posted online anywhere? I would certainly like to see them :-)

Yeah man and I'm emailing as many shops and game clubs that are withing in our range Rob. Would you like to demo with me possibly GoMC1? As I should get everything I need in the next month.

Yeah sure.
Theres a shop opposite the train station in Reading.
I might go to a few, I havent done demos in a while. :)

Especially seeing as I have nigh on all the minis.

Here it is : http://myspace.voo.be/eclassen/GoMC1BattleReports/GoMc1_Scenario_Pack_Attack.pdf

The reason why it had been rejected (and I can somehow understand it) is that
this is the whole reason judges are in the game.

The reason why I invented this scenario was precisely that, as a "super-gang" in the campaign, I was kind of reluctant to challenge anybody (fearing the Judges). On the other hand, nobody dared challenge me.
Stalemate! (and a blocked campaign for some time until I had enough of the wait and bit the bullet...)

Let me know what you think of it.

Hi All

Good luck with the demo fellas, I'm brett from Australia. Just brought this great game and have applied for MI as well to demo in Australia and try and drum up some more interest. Over in Oz it is a very little heard of game but I am hoping to change that :D

Thats the attitude Brett, right on man :D

good luck are there any schools, shops or gaming clubs in your area? coz as soon as you get accepted I'd send off as many emails as you can

There is the local games shop here that I have demo at before with a WW2 game. Made the gangs tonight so just need to paint them up now. I think this game has so much to offer :D , I know it can be a winner because lets face it who dosn't love Dredd  . We also have a few conventions in Australia as well, and a couple of clubs in the area around Emu Plains. I know I can get something going with this system, I know it won't be easy but I am hopeing to have a core of players to run a campaign with. Cheers for the advice to mate 8) I will email everyone I can to get this up and running in Australia but may have a few silly questions though

Brett

Yeh well you should download the MI guide and the FAQ from the demo teams page. Its a good read and lets you know how things work and how to prepare

Thanks for this! I like it a lot, it's a nice alternative to calling in the Judges. It seems it would be more satisfying to take down a really powerful gang by (temporarily) joining up with a rival than calling in The Law). It's always nice to have options :-)

Steve

If you guys have a problem, with the judges, LT Razak from the starship troopers board wrote a way of running them as a player gang which seemed more balanced. You could PM him over it.
