I'm always keen to get gangs articles through to S&P but I can't gurantee approval.

As I mentionned in my post, I can understand your reason for not approving it... (no hard feelings about this on my side  )

(I just hope that you'll approve the one I sent last week... I really like those three specialists!)

If you guys have a problem, with the judges, LT Razak from the starship troopers board wrote a way of running them as a player gang which seemed more balanced.

I already have this, its very good. I don't have any problem with the Judges at all - one of things that interested me in gettting Gangs in the first place was the chance to play the Judges :-)

I just like variety, and having an option for two gangs to join together to fight a bigger one seems like it would be fun.

I'm happy to have both alternatives available (and if anyone comes up with any others, I will add them to my growing collection of GOMC1 rules :-))

Best we could come up with was having two gangs form a temporary aliance against the super gangs. It worked well, each gang retains it's command structure, but the combi-gang takes all of it's actions in one turn. We even added rules for Top-dogs trying to order other gangers about (and the chaos and potential beakdown of the truce that follows).
Pretty good, means the super gangs don't get mauled by the judges every time they play and the smaller gangs get to take away some experience. Playing the judges is cool, but I don't like them appearing too often. If you are the little guy in a campaign, it's hard to actually get xp etc... if you are forced to call the judges or do pointless scenarios you know you'll lose.
Also fun at the end as next game is the 'truce' gangs fighting over any turf they won.

Okay guys I am new to GOMC1. I haven't even bought them yet. But when I went to my local games shop. Which by the way is about 150 miles away they were hugely negative. Basically I have masses of Judge Dredd figs from the 80s. Also got lots of the Adventure 2000 vehicles. what I need to know is GOMC1 going to provide me with easy access into skirmishing in the 2000AD universe. I say 2000Ad because I also have strontium dogs and Rogue trooper figures. Are the rules and stats easily adaptable??? Or am I just as well sticking with Necromunda????

This game is much more adaptable than Munda. You will automatically see the similarities though.
The game is well worth it, it is brilliant. I think people are negative as it has so little support these days as there are better things for MGP to put money into it.
I have a few of the old 80's GW 2000AD minis, they do not compare to the ones MGP have put out, these are lovely.
Really, buy the boxed set, you will be impressed by the rules and the plastics are not too bad. The scenery is good if backed of strong card, but you difinately need two boxes worth (for the board as well). I know some people who use these for demos. I have to say, having a properly made board is much nicer, but for those with little space, 2 of these small boxes and a K&L carrycase is all you need! Perfect!
If you do come up with any new rules for it, please post them, we would LOVE to see them. Check out S&P this month and April', there are some rules for the cursed earth.
Unfortunately the only character currently covered is Dredd, but again, any new characters and rules to use them in skirmishes woul dbe brilliant. A really good article for S&P as well. :)

OK Rob will give it a try. Must say though was disheartened by the reaction at the local games shop. I was at the games unveiling at Fantizan and to me it seemed Ok but nobody else was convinced. In my eyes it is classic old school SciFi.

How do the new figs compare to the originals? I imagine they are bigger for some reason. Ive got too many of the originals to suddenly stop using them. Considering they were made in 1985 I think the sculpting has stood the test of time pretty well.
Will download the two S&P mentioned and see what scenarios I can come up with while waiting on my rules.

The sculpts are brill compared tot he older ones. They are less chunky, but usually a little taller. The fatties are HUGE compared to the old GW ones. Much funnier though. If you do have loads of the old ones, you are a very lucky person.
Don Uggie Apelino and his gang are noticably different from the MGP apes, the MGP ones are definately nicer, but the GW ones are smaller. Don Uggie is about the same height as a chimp, Fast eeek is about the same and Joe Bananas is the right height (not to mention the nicest model of the lot).
I want to wait for the foundry ones though, they look lovely. :)

Im glad to say every one I have bought has been roughly half price. You just have to keep checking good old Ebay all the time.
There is a seller on Ebay called " Infinite worlds games" I think. He often has the odd bargain.
