What a day!
First I want to thank everyone that has chimed in on the White Star's paint job. I really value that feedback. It got it's first game in today, and I think this is definetly something I am going to get into.
I picked up two more White Star's today, and a pair of Dag'kar Missile Frigates, by recommendation as a nice compliment to the ISA. I realize that I only get one allied point at Raid 5, but they let me play with it today, as I got used to the game. It looks like Battle 5 is going to be the goal size anyway for this campaign they are just starting. I'm excited.
I picked up the half circle with the arcs, and was turned on to Chernobyl's cards, for which I bought a pack of hard card holders for and was able to print out a trio of White Star's and a pair of Dag'kar's for my first game. Really helped me stay on top of what I had to work with.
I lost my first game, I think mostly due to just not knowing what deployment represented. I focused on killing the nearest target in my Minbari foe's force, and didn't take out his heavier weapons until much later. The game ended with one Battle ship against my one White Star that survived, and he had a set of Nial Fighters left on top of that, so we called it a win for him.
The store had four White Star's, but only two that didn't show really serious defects to the front section of the craft, so I bought the two that I hoped wouldn't give me any trouble, and I hope to prime them tomorrow morning for an evening paint session.
Thank you again for the warm welcome, and all the feedback. I've jumped right in, and I'm really glad I did.
Thanks again!
