Mongoose
Hello,
My name is Greg but my callsign in many other online venues is Dark_Ghoul or DG. I started playing B5 ACTA 3 months ago and was fortunate enough to be able to buy three fleets (ISA, Psi Corps, EA 3rd Age & Crusade) + targets. The two other guys at the LGS we play at are doing Narn + Gaim, and Centari + Mimbari. My ships and rules arrived today (with a note on the box telling the delivery driver it was 15lbs).

Let me start off with out of the 41 ships I received today, and the ~100 stands of fighters, there are only two ships I have questions with about the castings plus the core rules book. Overall, I am pleased with what I received.

Q1. On both my Psi Corp Mothership and the Civilian Luxury Liner, the part that makes up the front end of the sphere (not the bridge, but the ball {Liner}/Docking ball part {Psi Corp} are not cast cleanly in that parts of the edge that fits against the center section of the ball is not there. There are gaps 2-3 mm deep and 4-7 mm long around the circumference of this edge that are not there (It reminds me of either old metal or cold solder joints with no flux to make a good weld). Is this normal or should I request replacement parts (is it a problem with the mold)? I have another Mothership on the way from FRPGames that should arrive early next week that I can compare it to but I thought I would ask here.

Q2. The core rules I received is a Hardback (yippee) but it's pages are in black and white, as well as that some of the pages appear to have more glue holding them in (not all pages open to the same depth). Is this normal (the gluing)? I saw in this forum a mention of a PDF that was available. Was this in Color and how do I go about getting it? Is this the problem they had with the book earlier?

Your feedback is appreciated and I look forward to being a member of this community.

Thanks,
Greg

Alas cleanly cast modelsare few and far between, a craft knife and a steady hand are your friend.
as for the book, Mongoose have had some well publicised issues with printing. The book IS in black and white, no doubt it saves printing costs. The fleet book is in colour.
The PDF is available but is still in black and white and costs about £9 from wargames world.

Mongoose will replace any parts you are not happy about, email sales@mongoosepublishing.com .

There were to problems with the rulebook. There was a misprinted page 28 and the pages fall out. If either of those happen, or you are in anyway unsatisfied, they will replace it. Sadly the book is in B&W.

Just buy the PDF from the online story.

Welcome to acta. The minies look great when finished, but it can take a bit of work to get there. Investing in some greenstuff, or similar modeling putty, can be worthwhile.

Well no. I've gotten two of the fleet books I've ordered so far and the first i got is hardback and color and the other is softback and B/W.
So the new ones is sadly B/W.
