New Octurian

My octurian arived today. And all I can say is wow, I thought the warlock is a big mini. I can see what people mean now when they say that it is a model with real presents on the table. Do people recommend pinning a model this size? Or will glue alone do the trick.

I would definitely pin it. You should also look into removeable bases as that thing will surely snap any plastic stem while being transported.

I suspected so. The only other ACTA models I've pinned were 3 omegas, and thats only because I couldn't see any other way of getting them to stay together. Thanks for the advice, looks like I'll be borrowing the drill from work again.

For removable bases I recommend the magnetic adaptors by Ninja Magic (I get mine from Rattlehead Games).

Yes true although personally I think the Octurion (and similar) is about as big as I would have wanted ships - the Adira etc are too large for me.............

I was mulling over the idea of an adira, but the NZ navy won't let me use one of their shipyards to build it in.

The Adira certainly needs pinning. I haven't had to pin any of my Octurians and they have all survived two house moves unharmed. The other thing to take into acount with the Adira is that it is a supremely ugly model that doesn'nt fit in with the look of the rest of the Centauri fleet. Save your money and convert something if you want to field one

3 Octurians 1 Adira and certainly won't be adding any more Adiras although I may well add a few more primus, depends on what Mongoose decide to do to the fleet, they may well yet all end up on ebay

My octurion didn't need pinning but my yet to glue adira certainly need it.
The surfaces in contact are way too small for the thing to hold on it's own imo.

I too would like to see a picture of your fleet Right Hand cos i'm considering another octurion myself and i'd like to see how it looks
