New minis pics are up!

The brakiri hull does lack detail, and does seem big, the last thing the brakiri need is another big hull competing for space, was hoping it would be small.

The crusade era ships is just terrible for an ea ship. They tend to be in one plane, blocky, have turrets and exposed mechanics. There are some exceptions of course...but this is too far.

Bluestar is a bluestar...good to see it.

The Brakiri reminds me of planes from Crimson Skies or from some alternate WWII universe than Brakiri design. I mean just add propellers and you've got something from Secrets of the Third Reich.

Interesting, the Brakiri scout also reminded me of a WW I / II submarine or at least torpedo - maybe that´s intentional? Wouldn´t be impossible that MGP took some inspiration from historical vessels...

To anyone that thinks the Myrmidon does not fit with the EA look here and please show me an overiding design element in previous EA ships?

blocky designs without pointy noses!

that sounds a good enough design philosophy for the EA. :)

I like the new Brakiri ship far more than the recent scout they received. Depending on it's in-service date I may well get one.

This "Dual-Jump Drives" stat for the Blue Stars might allude to the proposed Hyperspace rules in the last S+P which included a ruling that Jump-capable ships could only use their Jump Engines once per game. Perhaps the Dual-Jump system allows them to count as having 2 seperate Jump Drives so that they can jump back out if needed. Several tactical possibilities come to mind with that ability.

And if you read the description it is a cross between a heavy fighter and a cutter... So it would have more in common with a Thunderbolt or a Star Fury.

Well frankly it doesnt have much in common with a Thunderbolt OR a Starfury. I mean common both of those fighters are built around 'Xwing' with four engines. And both look quite clunky and blocky still, as opposed to all smooth curves and so on. Yes SOME EA ships have smoother curves but these tend to be older designs like Hyperions and they still look pretty 'clunky'.

As for the rest of the crusade EA ships, no they DONT really fit with the older designs but they ARE consistent to EACH OTHER! If anything the only place I could see they Myrmidon even remotely fitting as a model it would be in Early Years EA but certainly not crusade.

Oh you know what I mean, the pointy one with the sword on the front... Warlock is it? Never was much good at telling EA apart, they are all grey and pointy... aren't they?

It just occured to me that the Myrmidons look vaguely like the "Vorlon" guys from 5th Element....

the Manichewans! Yes I thought exactly the same thing! (both;I thought they were Vorlon rip-offs in the movie and thought Manichewans when I saw the model) spooky!

have you seen recent S+P stats?
Myrmidon, patrol, hull 7, AJP, Shields, Interceptors, quad damage beam...
