New Brakiri (no pics)

Can it be that the new Brakiri will lean heavily towards the higher levels of the game? The Kabrokta is battle, I´d guess as a dreadnought and with such a big ship the Courami will be ariund War, and the Armageddon ship is also still coming... or is this one of those situations were the newest ships are simply so powerful that they have to be costly?

No - the Brakiri are, overall, becoming a lot better rounded out. Think of them as akin to the 3rd Age EA in terms of capability.

Ah, ok, glad to hear that! I just don´t see brakiri playing in the same league as Minbari or Crusade era EA, no matter how advanced their ships become.

Them Brakiri are certainly getting some good looking ships these days. Hopefully the improvements will keep going through the revised Brivoki (and the other Armageddon choices).

I like it too - although IMO it needs a strut right in the center...reminds of a Romulan Warbird (NG) which was a great design.

That makes an already great ship into a drop dead model... ebay here I come for a Brakiri fleet box and extras.

Totally agree, I may have to add a strut to the one I am bound to buy for my fledgling Brakiri fleet.

good call on the bottom strutt, makes all the difference... personally i would also remove the big eyebrows sticking out sideways from the front of the ship. :wink:

not sure it can match crucible orc`s design for fear factor though.

Also, why is it so smooth? Are you guys using cg models now to make the new models, if so what program do you use(and/or what file extensions). I'm a beast at cg generated models(takes me a while but when I get done with them, they look good), I'm sure I could make a few interesting looking vessels that will have everyone going crazy.

It comes from the old FA(or whatever it was called) game, so it's more official than this one.

I'm not sure. But seeing as how that Corumai was created before this Corumai was, the old Corumai would be the 'real' Corumai, and this would be the *obvious* imposter. Hence the old Corumai is more 'official' than this new one.

Well technically isn't the Avioki the only "official" Brakiri ship? And is the name Avioki even official or just a designation used since we don't know anything about it other than it's a Brakiri ship and blows up even better than Narn ships do? :lol:

No, it is not. Basically, whoever has the license decides what is "official", and that lies with Mongoose. The Courami is an old concept, yes, but the old AOG design has just been one idea of how it could look - MGP has taken another approach, and it IS their game after all.

I know that the old Agents of Gaming stuff was supposed to be canon, but they have contradicted the series on a few occasions, so I´ve always been wary of that.

As much as I´ve enjoyed B5Wars and associated products: AOG is dead and gone, let it rest.

Indeed, although I would love to have had the other design. So sleek and lovely. Yes, sooooo lovely.

The Pikatos Fighter was a heavy fighter with some anti-ship capabilities. I'd doubt it would be any better than a Falkosi in a dogfight, but it would have more punch than a Falkosi. Falkosi are nothing but pocket rockets, they excel in speed and that's it.

If you've got a Brokados on the table Falkosii are at least as good dogfighters as anything else, with the obvious exception of the Minbari fighters and the Starfury. Their biggest problem is lack of numbers. That carrier model may be a big help there. Otherwise you usually need to spend a few Patrol choices on extra fighter wings in higher-PL games.

Biggest problem I've found with the Brakiri is their range 3 AF weapons. Thunderbolts and the like can stay at 4" and pound you with missiles (once they've shot down your own fighters) and you can only shoot back with weapons that most of them will Dodge anyway. Aviokii are really vulnerable to this as they have no rear guns at all. I usually have a Halik fly escort for pairs of Avioki to try and counter this but you've still got the same problem with most of your shots being Dodged anyway.

How are Star Trek and Star Wars fans any worse than Babylon 5 fans? They're more numerous but I'll bet as a percentage that the number of idiots in each group is about the same. It's just the larger overall numbers that lead to us seeing more stupid Trek and Wars fans than we do B5 fans.

I think starwars fans have more idiots than the others. Trek fans are bigger science-geeks then Star Wars fans. They are usually far more nerdy and far more intelligent. Star Wars has more of a mass appeal. Even some of the 'coolest' guys out there are Star Wars fans.
