New Base and Prestige classes (aside from the rulebook ones)

Cut

Mongoose
I -being brand new into 2nd edition myself - was wondering, if there are some more base classes (and more prestige classes) spread across some of the sourcebooks for the 2nd (maybe also 1st edition) Babylon 5 RPG? :?:

I myself find the base classes given in the core rules to be a bit lacking, although I can't quite name, what other base class I'd like to see. Maybe something in the direction of exploration and the like.

Check out the upcoming Freedom Station sourcebook for the 2nd ed version of the Raider Base Class.

There are a couple of nifty prestige classes in Heroes & Aliens, not to mention a great deal of NPC data.

There a few career path outlines in the IPX book, but not full on base classes.

If you have any pak'ma'ra in your group, they are going to seriously want their sourcebook in May.

Other than that, I'd say that the Galactic Guide is a must. It is one of the best 1st edition books we ever did, and well worth the coin to have that sort of resource for your game.

Back to work,
Bry

Thanks, Bry. With your praise for it and Vortex' answer including it, the Galactic Guide seems to have moved higher up on my list. But the next books I want to get are your Leap of Faith (like the idea) and the Starships of the Galaxy book. I'm like Neo somewhere here once said, a person that likes to "see" the ships of a given Sci-Fi setting as well. :) No
IPX sounds very interesting as well but there is no Pak'ma'ra in sight, just yet.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those...and I wrote them! Actually, a good IPX-sponsored Corporate Headhunter makes for a decent team leader.

At least, that is what my home game group thinks. :)

Cheers,
Bry

How many people play with your group and what sort of characters are there, if you don't mind sharing that information that is?

My Home game group is a bunch of freelance types from the Brakiri Devado Station (see Merchants, Traders and Raiders) that were contracted to go galaxy-galavanting for IPX. (the year is 2261, btw)

Alaren Kodiro -> Centauri Trader/Agent (Mercantile Diplomat)
John Lafeet -> Human Agent (Ministry of Peace scumbag)
Jeremy Price -> Human IPX Corporate Headhunter (team organiser)
Doctor Blu'rk -> pak'ma'ra Scientist (plasmology technology specialist)
Kirin -> Centauri Lurker (pariah pilot who hates his own people)
Gawain Elroy -> Human Soldier (ex-GROPOS mercenary bodyguard)

There you have them, my motley crew!

:)

I wasn't sure if it was you or Gar, but I'm going to say again: Bounty Hunter is probably the best supplement so far, and I'm really looking forward to getting my copy of IPX someday.

On topic: The guy who is likely to develop into the team leader is headed directly for the Intel Liaison class by way of the Finder specialization. I hope someone ends up taking the Corp Headhunter as well, because it'd be a big help to them once they figure out exactly who they are working for.

So yeah, Bounty Hunter has some good classes that are flexible enough to apply to many types of characters.

That sounds like an interesting composition of a team. The way to get players into a campaign via IPX sounds good to me, but that would meen getting yet more books next month, and beside getting my car repaired, getting presents for my girlfriend and buy foodstuff, the budget is already kinda strained. But your marketing skills are quite well developed, I might say 8)
