Need ideas for a particular crew knock-out scenario

It seams that the players are not supposed to be removed from their ship, just their "toys".

Others are coming up with the you wake up "amnesia" situations. I think the poster may prefer solutions that are further from the "heavy handed" side.
 
Cryo berth: Whatever mission they are on requires them to be transported secretly via cryoberth. When they wake up X amount of time has passed and they are on a recovery ship. Everything they knew is gone and they are in a different sector.

Cryo storage only costs 100 credits a month, it is incredibly cheap to put someone on ice. So during the mission the carrier ship was attacked, boarded by pirates and taken as a prize. The group was sold as icicle slaves and transported to a new location. Once freed they can try and recover their lives and exact revenge.

Your other option is a Jump space act of sabotage. As the Jump field fires up and the ship starts to transition there is an explosion and the ship misJumps, The badly formed Jumpfield makes them start acting crazy and affecting their mental state. Slow fade to black. They wake up in whatever situation you put them in.

Have them have a couple of fights beforehand with people, social interactions, or they hurt people in a business deal. Public threats of "Karma is a b*tch " will give warning that sabotage is possible.

Ask the players who they think the enemy is, they will all remember a different person from their long careers and come up with brilliant reasons why this or that person is responsible.
