Yeah, I'm thinking of using it in my Cimmerian campaign. I want to involve the players in some blood fueds, and at their low level, this seemed the way to go.
I wanted some feedback, though, from those who had used the system.
i liked both the Free Companies book and the Pirate book quit a bit. the only thing i didn't like was the corruption for pillaging too much. i don't know, i see corruption in Conan being more supernatural. you mess with demons or magic and you might have some nightmares, go insane, and eventually grow horns. growing horns for doing "bad" stuff seems a little too Fable or D&D to me. which means i don't like it or think it fits
And, it looks like, if one wanted to use the shield wall battle rules in the Cimmeria sourcebook, it would be easy to use them and seque nicely into the Free Companies system once the wall broke.
A GM could run the battle normally around the PCs, but use the Free Companies MC system to decide on how the rest of the battle turns out.
