NA - Looking for dimensions of a Decados Hyram Light Carrier

Mongoose
Hi.

I'm considering using a Decados Hyram Light Carrier for another game, and wanted to know if anyone can measure one for me. I'm interested in length and width (mm or inches is fine). Can anyone help me?

Thank you.

In the absence of actual measurements, you can look at Noble Knight's picture:

They're on standard large Mongoose bases. You can get some idea of the Hyram's size from that.

They're also out of stock, so if you don't already have a Hyram, where are you planning to get it?

Hi. I have seen various pictures of the ship on a base. I know the bases are approx 2" in diameter. The issue is that I want to substitute the Hyram for a Heavy Cruiser class mercenary ship, and wanted something about the right size (2.5" or so). It's hard to tell the exact size from the picture angles I can find.

I can only find the ship on Ebay, which I normally don't like to use.

The Hyram is visibly slightly smaller than the base, therefore less than 2" long. If you want something 2.5" long, you could try the Leonardo Monitor. Or the Grigori class cruiser, which judging by the photo is perhaps 2.5" high, and which Noble Knight show to be in stock so you don't have to resort to eBay. :)

The Hyram probably won't be a good choice then. Back to the drawing board. :(

Thanks. I may have future questions though if I find something else suitable.

Yeah, it's 46mm long, a shade over 1 3/4".

If it's roughly the right design concept for your ship, have you considered adding something to the aft section? It does come to a fairly abrupt stop at the engines.

What does the mercenary heavy cruiser look like? Is it for the Fading Suns universe or for some other game? If it's Fading Suns, does it have to be Decados?

No, I've been re-purposing various ships into mercenary ships for Full Thrust. I had 4 Missionary Frigates (Terran Alliance) from Firestorm Armada that I was going to use as Destroyer class mercenary vessels, and needed something larger for Light or Heavy cruiser class ships.

I don't expect the designs to be of the same styling exactly; I was looking more for the "cool looking" factor.

I may still try the Hyrams out and either call them Light Cruisers, or if they are wide enough, go with Heavy Cruisers (shorter length isn't as big of a deal if the ships are rather wide, and I can justify to myself that the mass is about the same as a Heavy Cruiser). :D

Rick.

I did some quick measuring, and those dimension are a close match for an ESU Light Cruiser, so I guess I can call the Hyrams maximum massed Light Cruisers after all. Many thanks. :D

No probs, glad to help.

I would have got them sooner, but I got distracted by the Orion. :?

I ended up adding some top stabilizer assemblies from another miniature to create a more nasty looking pirate ship:

Very nice. I'm looking at some way of turning mine into small gunboats for Silent Death.

I paired the Hyrams (as mercenary light cruisers) with some Decados destroyers, that I removed part of the engines off of to make them into destroyers.
