Earth Alliance

Shadow Star /Raid
Speed 16, Hull 6, Craft: 1 Shadowbolt fighter, Troops:1,
Damage: 14/ 5, Crew: 18/ 4, Turns: 2x 90
Advanced Jump Point, Dodge 4+, Flight Computer, Hyperspace Mastery, Self Repair 2,
Molecular Slicer Beam 12” F arc, 3AD, Beam, Super AP, Precise,
Light Phasing Pulse Cannon 8” T 4AD, Antifighter, AP
A pack hunter for the 23rd Century and a new vision of spacecraft design, those who have seen it claim it can only come from the minds of the ancients. Its speed is now legendary and it bears a weapon able to disable any that seek to challenge it. With the ability to appear and disappear at will, few are aware of the how many of these lethal craft yet exist.

Exterminator Class Cruiser (Shadow Star Evolution) /Battle
Speed 10, Hull 6, Craft: 2 Dark Fury fighters, Troops:1,
Damage: 35/ 10, Crew: 38/ 8, Turns 2x 90
Advanced Jump Point, Dodge 4+, Flight Computer, Hyperspace Mastery, Self Repair 1D6,
Molecular Slicer Beam 18” F arc, 4AD, Beam, Super AP, Precise, Triple Damage
Phasing Pulse Cannon 10”, F arc, 6AD, Double Damage, AP
Light Phasing Pulse Cannon 8” T 4AD, Antifighter, AP
Designed to be the last word in assault cruisers, the Exterminator class proved its worth against the Vree. Able to match their manoeuvrability and with the weapons of the ancients, the Captains of the few ships in service are now looking for a real challenge. As they hear reports of the new Minbari ships, it seems they will get their wish………..

The Minbari

Shakrlis Class Battlecruiser (Sharlin variant) /Armageddon
Speed 6, Hull 5, Craft: 6 Nial Fighters, Troops:3,
Damage: 60/ 8, Crew: 66/ 9, Turns 1x 90
Adaptive Armour, Advanced Jump Point, Carrier 3, Command +1, Flight Computer, Self Repair 1D6, Stealth 5+
Lightning Cannon 25” F arc, 6AD, Beam, Super AP, Precise, Triple Damage,
Neutron Cannon 30” F Arc, 8AD, Beam, Super AP, Precise, Double Damage,
Fusion Cannon 18” P/S/A, 12AD Mini-Beam, AP

A vision of the perfect blending of Minbari and Vorlon technology, a shimmering vessel of death that can match anything in the known galaxy. Nothing can stand before it and live, only the Ancient Shadow Ships can hope to match it in the conflicts to come.

is there anything that the shadows dont infect in this alt. universe? like the dark fury and shadowbolts idea. i take it the stats are different. you should make a poseidon-shadow varient for the fighters.

Have lots of ideas :D  - was not sure how much to take up on the forum - If I get round to it will do the stats for the fighters and the revised fleet lists - maybe at Lunch time - my ships are on order and then may show my attmepts at making them! :D

The Shadows are recreating the Earth Alliance in their image (no ISA White Stars)- the Vorlons the Minbari, have not decide on the others and thinking about the Drakh as a wild card as they will not have the same background (no destruction of Zhadum and not abandoned by the Shadows).

my thoughts thus far:

Dark Fury
Speed: 12, Dogfight +2, Dodge 2+, Hull 4
Light Phasing Pulse Cannon 2”, 2AD, Antifighter, AP,
Although the new Fury Class fighters appear wrapped in organic tech they remain at heart the same Space Superiority fighter. Both veteran and new pilots are more than pleased with the resulting craft in combat, for enhanced with superior weaponry they are a match for the Minbari Nials.

Shadowbolt
Speed 10, Dogfight+1, Dodge 3+, Hull 5,
Light Phasing Pulse Cannon 2” 2AD, Antifighter, AP
Enhanced Polarity Cannon 4” 2AD, AP, Double Damage
With new technology grown to meet the requirements for a fighter able to engage Vorlon warships, the Shadowbolts are proving popular with their pilots despite the reduction in manoeuvrability.

Vengeance Class Battle Carrier (Avenger Variant) / Battle
Speed 6, Hull 5, Craft: 8 Dark Fury fighters, Troops: 3,
Damage: 46/ 11, Crew: 50/ 12, Turns 1x 45,
Carrier 4, Command +1, Fleet Carrier, Interceptors 2, Jump Point,
Phasing Pulse Cannon 10”, F arc, 6AD, Double Damage, AP
Light Pulse Cannon 8” F/P/S/A 4AD,
Light Phasing Pulse Cannon 8” T 4AD, Antifighter, AP
With new fighters coming into service, the Avenger class Carrier was upgraded to bring them into battle. Not as advanced as the newer ships that make up the new Earth Alliance fleet, they are however proven workhorses and are likely to remain in service for some time.

have fun!

Not sure on the whitestar variant, the loss of adaptive vs the hull six with greater damage crew numbers. You have also replicated the issue we saw in Arm of a ship with self repair and not enough crew for it to matter much. Well I suppose the +1 to dam con rolls is a big deal.

The shadow bolt concerns me for the same reason, you down played survivability with the dodge 3+ but with double damage on the long guns...just not sure that's a balance. It's close...would love to hear some playtest data.

Just mumbling along here really...

No, all interesting and good points - it was really a series of ideas that foced their way out following the discussion about Shadows stars on a different post. I am hoping to have a proper play with them when I can - Bloody work!!

Self repair - well it is very useful in a campaign setting - as noted elsewhere and the bonus to crit repairs most useful - I was trying to make it more Shadow like than Vorlon like but still keep crew. Same thing really with the Shadowbolt - its better than a Shadow fighter (what isn't) but different to a Thunderbolt. Its designed to fight Vorlon / Minbari ships and avoid the charged energy pulse, and dodge doesn't help against their fighters guns / minbari mini beams. Did you mean the double damage is too good?

thanks for thoughts - appreciated :D

is the shadow star supposed to have a TD molecular slicer? as the exterminator does. and if its shadow versions then the weapons should follow whitestar norms and have a 1AD molecular slicer and 4AD phasing pulse cannon. they dont have turrets in Armada they are basically whitestars with shadow tech instead of vorlon.

plus giving them turreted anti-fighter removes one of the WSs weaknesses. as for the exterminator. if its a variant why has it got so much extra damage? would put it same damage with 1d6 self repair, maybe 25 damage. really it should be based off the WSC-2 if its the mirror universe versions of whitestars and WSC-2s.

Thanks for the feedback - ideas at present - not played with them yet! However I was trying to make Shadow tech/EA versions rather than just White Stars with a different name - - hence Hull 6, Hyperspace mastery, and turreted anti fghter, its not meant to be triple damage but 3 AD instead (I had considered interceptors but with dodge already it is too much)

It is more a version of the Gunship (which should be at Battle as I think most agree) - I had boosted damage as they have lost Adaptive Armour (its a Vorlon thing)

have fun - I am! :D

Shadows always sound sweet, that nice noise they make - or is that just me!?! :D

seriously - if you liked the ships!? thats cool :D as you can tell got a bit carried away and now have a entire EA fleet list stated out - just need to make and play them to see how broken they are! !

:D

Any suggestions or ideas always welcome!

Well Minbari / Vorlon fleet list is next so get one done tonight / tomorrow when back from work - thanks very much for kind offer!!

my Sharlin hopefully arrive soon and can play with that, thinking of a Vorlon-Omega (as Omega's are renegade PSI corps rather than EA) meld.......

have fun, I am! :D

Hi Shadow Queen - some Minbari stuff: still palying with ideas at present

Am keeping the Tinashi similar but playing with the variant:

Shantavi Advanced Warship (Tinashi Evolution) Battle
Speed 8, Hull 5, Craft: none, Troops: 2,
Damage: 38/ 12, Crew: 42/ 14, Turns 1x 45
Adaptive Armour, Advanced Jump Point, Flight Computer, Stealth 4+
Improved Neutron Laser 25” F Arc, 4AD, Beam, Super AP, Precise, Triple Damage,
Fusion Cannon 18” F/P/S 2AD Mini-Beam, AP
A test-bed for the technologies released to them by the Vorlons, the Shantavi is a powerful refit of the ageing Tinashi. Though the inclusion of the latest weaponry puts a strain on the vessel’s power systems, its glittering hull betrays the biological defences that they now have at their disposal. The lessons learned with this and the Veshitan gave the Minbari the required knowledge to create the technological marvel that is the Shakrlis.

Veshatan-class Advanced Gunship (Neshatan Evolution) Battle
Speed 12, Hull 6, Craft: none, Troops: 2,
Damage: 56/ 14, Crew: 55/ 12, Turns 1x 45
Advanced Jump Point, Flight Computer, Stealth 3+
Lightning Cannon 20” F Arc, 6AD, Beam, Super AP, Precise, Triple Damage,
Built at the behest of the Warrior Caste who were keen to see the Neshatan’s capabilities grafted onto a faster, and therefore more flexible ship. Superseded by more recent hulls, venerable ships were chosen to have the honour of being one of the first Minbari cruisers to mount a weapon of Vorlon design. Despite the difficulty of screening the massive power requirements of the Lightning Cannon, the Warrior Caste have, once again, high hopes for the Veshatan.

Priority Level: Patrol

Priority Level: Battle
Shantavi Advanced Warship

Neshatan Battlecruiser
Sharlin War Cruiser
Sukarin Class Assault Carrier

Priority Level: Armageddon
Shakrlis class Battlecruiser

Tarath Attack Ship Patrol
Speed 12, Hull 4, Craft: none, Troops: 0,
Damage: 6/ 1, Crew: 8/ 2, Turns 2x 90
Flight Computer, Stealth 5+
Fusion Cannon 12” F arc, 4AD Mini-Beam, AP, Precise
Designed to act as either a hidden escort or in conjunction with fighters as a devastating swarm attack. Able to carried in pairs aboard the Sukarin, great things are expected of these weapon platforms, especially against the new EA Shadow Stars.

Special Rules: Unless bought separately, Tarath’s are carried by the Sukarin Assault Carrier, no carried ships may start deployed with the rest of the fleet but may be launched as though they were fighters.
