Well I got 2 copies of each on pre-order from Hobby Box and neither of them has fallen apart or anything. Yes the rule books are a bit 'crinkly' when you leaf through them but that's all, and they have seen a lot of use these past 2 weeks.
I figured I should put this out there in this thread:
It appears that they are doing (have done) a new production run. When distributors ran out of their first delivery of books, they didn't get anymore for approx. 2 weeks.
Is there any indication that this 2nd run has fixed the binding problems?...a) it don't fall apart, b) that horrible crinkle effect on the pages....and will they produce enough for a 1:1 swap with all the affected owners?
I just got mine two days ago and the quality is not too bad. There is a little wrinkling on the pages of the rule book, but not enough to really complain about. The binding is a bit weak, but seems like it'll hold up decently well. Niether are perfect, but they are at least decent quality.
Are the PDFs available. I am over here in the US and my book fell apart. VERY DISSAPOINTED! My Fleet book is fine. I do think I might want to rebind it.

As I've already posted elsewhere, my original rulebook had the same problems a number of you seem to have. Mongoose replaced it and the new book is O.K.

You mean has not fallen apart......? what about the paper quality...the crinkled paper and text too close to the spine..is that fixed......in other words is it of the quality you would expect considering how much this product cost?
Not as high quality as the fleet book unfortunately, but the binding is far better which seems to be the cause of the crinkling and text problems. That's why I said O.K. rather than perfect  Only a few pages had some crinkling and the text positioned correctly.
Hi Iain thanks for that,
My rule book was delivered a couple of weeks back......nothing fallen out but each page is crinkled, sounds like i'm opening a bag of crisps when I use it.
Now relying on a self bound PDF...but as that has errors that are corrected in the hardback it concerns me.....spent £15 on the Hardback and £7 or £8 on the PDF...was hoping pdf would at least be latest version.
