i wasn't too fussed about the binding till the pages started to fall out of my rukle book last night :(

who do i contact to get this sorted?

thanks in advance,

Holy smokes, now my FLEET book is falling apart as well  I thought those were of 'better' quality than the rulebook?
Well.. at least it held out 2 weeks longer than the rulebook

At the San Diego tournament this weekend everyones book was coming apart. I should have waited for the pdf version and bound it myself.

These are some of the worst rulebooks I have ever spent money on. $60 for 2 rulebooks and the binding fell apart in a week.

At a recent local tourney I think nearly all 8 of us had some problem, mostly rulebooks, but I seem to buck the trend with a fleet book thats falling apart and a rulebook that is fine!

Both my books arrived today and I have to say that for 60 €, I could have spend the money A LOT better.

Not only are the books already falling apart, especially the rule book. It looks like it was printed at a copy shop and then glued with all hast. My own store in town would have done it better.

All in all, a great - for 2nd Ed. 15 € for the rule and 25 € for the fleet book would have been more reasonable. So, it'll be much more difficult to find new players, the old box had the advantage of having so much counters, the books have nothing, accepting that they are hughly overpriced imo.

Yea all our groups rulebooks have some pages coming out, more obviously to come. Also got myself a warped cover. My fleet book so far is fine, but it sounds like it could break at any time with its cracking binding.

Ok got my Books today, well the Fleet Book looks ok, but as all the others here said the rule book is quite near to being a rip of!
Black and white pages that are heavily wrinkled and images where you can see the pixel :(
I would be ashamed of selling a product in such a condition!
It does not surprise me that most of the other books pages already are coming out, because you have to bend the book hard in order to open it because of the wrinkles.
It looks like it was printed at a copy shop and then glued with all hast.
That's an absolutely dead on comment!
One of the guys witch thought on starting ACTA, said he has to thing about it after seeing the quality of the books, finding new players with such stuff is really hard.

Ok, would it just have been the binding I would have less of a problem.

But I expected a quality product. What I got was at best second rate. Not to hurt anybody, but this is almost even worse than first ed. The game is no longer easy accessible, as you only get b&w counters to cut out from the book. There are typos. When I compare it to rule books from other companies, for 40 $ I get a well made full colour hardback with fleet/army lists. :?

You should consider contacting Mongoose and getting a replacement. :)

What i want to know is if there is such a thing as a good copy of the 2E Rules?

When I was at Colours last weekend, I looked at the copies that Mongoose had on sale and they were just as bad as the one I received by mail order.....I had taken my book along in the hope of replacement but did not bother in the end.

In fact i got the comment from one of the guys on the stall, "sorry they are all like that...."

Soooo.....is there any point asking for a replacement.....

As I said in an earlier post I decided to get the PDF as well...but then I found typos in that. aaaaagh!

Quality wise my fleetbook was much, much better.........why oh why the rulebook.....which I think is frrankly more important should have been so shoddy is really beyond me.

Yes there is one, maybe Mongoose recognized that they should start a new production run to make books that are worth the money to replace ours.
Or they will at least take a little more care for future products because no one will buy anything if the quality stays that bad!

Hi,
well thats my book falling apart as well. This is the first time I've read it. Too busy with the fleet book up until now.

Got mine from the same supplier as Blu Majik at the same time so probably from the same production run.

Any work from Mongoose on what is going to happen?
