My Initiative Sink Fix (or Jumping on the Bandwagon)

True, you'd be increasing the probability of picking an init-sink the more you have in the pack. But you would also not have complete control on who positions first.

Same problem, less control. Also, your bore sight ship gets picked randomly as well. A wash, probably.

My first instinct to the previous centauri haven example is that "all stop" should not be permitted to count as an activation initiative sink. but then, the enemy would just move the havens parallel to the board edge away from your fleet at half speed.

I'd like to be able to introduce a special order that allows you to not make one of your turns during your movement, and instead make the turn at the END of the movement phase. call it

"Line up on the enemy!"

Roll: auto

when a ship is given this special order, it may delay making one of its allowed turns until the end of the movement phase, after all ships have moved. Normal turning restrictions for the ship still apply (for example, 2 inches between turns). This order can be used line up an enemy ship in a boresight arc, or bring other weapons to bear on the enemy.

Since its a special order, it couldn't be combined with "concentrate all fire" or "come about" or "all stop" etc., unless you have something that ignores that restriction (some admirals can issue multiple orders to their own ships if I remember correctly)

It would need not to be specified. Otherwise you lose the utility, and its not much different than "concentrate fire" because you're naming a target. I'm thinking it need to be renamed "Fire as your guns bear!" to represent the more opportunistic nature of the command...

How is it a target can not be specified? Not specifying a target would make this too powerful. Essentially, we would be creating a very wide firing arc, ie any point in the turning arc which would pretty much a front firing arc.

Well, your firing is still limited to arc, after your ship has moved. This simply gives you greater odds to make sure your big gun(s) can find a target.
Really, I don't think it matters much except for boresights. At long range, non-boresighted ships usually don't have problems finding a good target for their main weapon, and their backup weapons may not be in range of anything anyway, so a "Concentrate all fire!" order is more useful. At closer range, an arc'd weapon is more likely to be able to find a target than a boresight, but now you want to be able to fire more secondary weapons, so CAFing usually isn't what you want. Typically you're looking for more maneuverablitiy, or defensive orders when it becomes a scrum. So it becomes a real drawback to have to use a special order to get the boresight off. It becomes a serious choice.
