Speaking of which, how does the Stalker fill the void left behind by the Hunter?
-Ken

With the wreckage of the poor fools that oppose it! 8)

Yeah Battle - Hunter was War - you get an Youngster at War.

Kids today............. :)

If the stats look like the ones I got in my playtest pack, the Stalker is not the killing machine you make it out to be. It's not nearly big enough to take the punishment other fleets are going to give to it. It's damage amount is too small as it's shields can only take 10 hits before they go down for the turn. With the amount of double and triple damage weapons out there, the are pretty fragile.

I ran the Vree against them about 2 weeks ago and ripped apart the shadow stalkers like they were made of tissue paper.

damage wise you could say the same thing about some of the other battle level vessels. . i mean it has lowish damage but combined with shields takes it upto the level of things like tinashis and dargans but the shadow stalker also gets self repair as well as half its shields back per turn and cant be crippled. i would say unless you concentrate enough on it to kill it in one turn its tougher than any other battle level vessel out there.

The 2E Vree kick a lot of ass. I love em even with the last-minute weapons range reduction.

Exactly, they are difficult to get the most out of defensively but have more potential than most ships. Offensively they have fewer AD than I remember :?

Sorry IIRC the old (1st set of rules I played) Shadow Ships used to have the Accurate trait which meant they never missed...........you did not need to roll for initial hit - it was very nasty - and my suggestion was only a joke! :) but then also any ship was destroyed on a 6,6 critical ! (a Starfury once destroyed my Shadow Cruiser! - great game - i had just cut a Sharlin in half!)

There is a line in the series where Delenn says "The shadows missed, the shadows NEVER miss" or something like that. I am all in favour of shadows being very scary

How is the book organised?

What aspect?

Fleet book - it is divided in sections by race(think its alphabectical but not sure off hand) - and almost all ships have a pic which is nice. :)

I believe that's in the first episode of Season 3, but I could be wrong.

Its the one where the Shadow ship breaks out of the study area in the Solar System - ie it woke up in a bad mood and cut loose before being destroyed by the White Star!

Nope, it is the first ep in Season 3, where Marcus shows up and they take the White Star FOC to break the blockade of the planet where the Rangers have a base.

Pics are good. Too many folk don't know how to paint in the proper scheme. Especially when some ships only get brief coverage in the episodes.

Yeah pics of "proper schemes" are good - but its also nice for people to try new things - the "Black Widow" Shadows on here are lovely - but not "Canon" there is plenty of room here for both! :)

My red and gold Centauri are not well done or canon but I like em :)

Hey, if you are paying the freight you can paint them any way you like. Its just nice to have the "correct" paint scheme.
Regards,

Wow... I just got an email from amazon where I preordered both my rulebook a fleetbook. They have delayed their shipping dates over a month and a half. Now they are saying they can't ship until Late October or mid November. Great...
