My current Elric campaign

Loz

Mongoose
In the Cities of the Young Kingdoms thread I mentioned that I'm running an Elric campaign that's currently at large in Ryfel.

Akrasia, who occasionally posts here, is maintaining an extremely entertaining journal of the games which can be found at:

Well worth following the exploits of Edvund, Bodric and Adralat as they attempt to tie Ryfel in knots...

I just had a quick look at the link Loz, it looks like you guys are having a great time. Akrasia is pretty gifted in his story telling.
I am returning to gaming myself next month after a sabbatical following the birth of daughter No2 and having spotted Ranyart Finn and Menekeyil in CotYK, I have decided to run 'Of Promises Broken' and 'The book of Brilliant Things' in sequence.

PS Damonjynx

One of my oldest buddies(Ronzo the Grim) is currently in Sydney(for the next year, I think). He is one of my usual gaming group and would probably be prepared to kill to get a game at this moment.
If you like, and if you need any more players, I could probably put you in contact with him.
Be warned though, he is distinctly Pikaraydian in attitude and outlook(tattoo's, loud music, fast motorcycles/chariots, faster women, strong liquor). He has a heart of gold though. He is a great GM as well as a player who puts some thought into his characters. Not a hack n'slasher by any means.

By all means give him my email address. I'm not GM'ing Elric for a little while, about 4-6weeks, but we are playing D&D 3.5 for the moment (after Easter) until my turn comes up again.

By the way, unless I am very much mistaken, that is Dunluce castle on the first page of Akrasia's site, right?

I thought it was Tintagel - but I'll find out when I him see him this week.

I have decided to run 'Of Promises Broken' and 'The book of Brilliant Things' in sequence.

Well... its Raschil, so I HAD to have Menekeyil and Finn in there.

Merging 'Promises' and 'Book' is a good idea. 'Book' is still one of my favourite scenarios.

In the words of an old advertising campaign here in Sydney, "Where do you get it?" - the scenarios, obviously.

Seriously, I fervently wish I'd started gaming in the YK years ago, when I bought DLoM. It would have been very cool and would have exposed us to Stormbringer, Elric and the D100 system much earlier. I didn't even know, before visiting these forums, about the "other" Elric novels, Revenge of the Rose etc and the graphic novel. I feel like a complete a newb even though I've read the "EC" series heaps of times over the last 3 decades!

'Of Promises Broken' is the campaign accompanying Cities of the YK vol I, out this week from Mongoose.

'Book of Brilliant Things' appears in 'Fate of Fools' and can be purchased in PDF from Drivethru (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=25440&it=1)

Both have scenarios set in Raschil, and share similar characters.

Thanks for that Loz.

I'm inquiring with local distributors re Cities. Do you know if/when it will be available as a PDF? I would assume most likely once the initial print run is all but exhausted, but I don't really know how publishing works.

I just purchased the Fate of Fools, haven't read it properly yet. Can someone please explain to me why purchased PDF's aren't bookmarked or don't have linked T.O.C's? Is it to do with the app used for typesetting? I know when I create PDF's from MS Word, the T.O.C (if auto generated) creates links to the various parts of the document.

I had a really good time, running 'Book' for my old gaming group back in the mid nineties. None of them are part of my current group(as Ronzo the Grim is in Oz) and I'm really looking forward to introducing Menekeyil and Ranyart Finn as recurring NPC's.

The last scene in which the old woman reveals what her Lord's actual intentions were all along is killer, pure genius. 8)

I am hopeful to find CotYk and 'Of Promises Broken' to be a worthy prequel.
At the moment, I have three players but only two character concepts.

The first is an Ilmioran rogue/scoundrel( think of a landlubber version of Jack Sparrow).
The second is a student(Scholar) from Cadsandria who attends the University there and is fascinated by certain books there detailing the Lords of Entropy.

The campaign journal has just been updated. There are now 7 'Diary entries' (written by yours truly) and 2 'Interludes' (written by Loz).

I'm still two sessions behind, but since we will not be meeting again until next week I should be able to catch up by then. 8)

Sounds like a fun campaign. I haven't read all the posts yet, he (Akrasia) certainly has a flair with words.

Wow -- thanks! :D

Loz is a brilliant GM. This is my favourite campaign in decades.

I thought as much. How difficult is it for you guys to get together for a game? I'm not at all familiar with the geography of your neck of the woods, but seeing as you apparently live in different countries...

We live in the same country. Akrasia lives part of the year in Toronto (where I work) and part in the US, so during this Canadian sojourn we've managed to meet for this campaign.

The campaign log has been updated recently:

It's still not completely up to date. Hopefully it will be this by next week. :)
