My Bugs (and MI) (constant pic update)

Just a color test:

I used several approachings of painting technique on this one bug as I wanted to find out how to do those 'arctic bugs' best. I think I know now, so the next will be a bit more 'consistent'.
I mainly relied on a technique that is used to paint complex gemes, just need to modify the details to fit my needs.

p.s.: Sorry Cliff, I managed to hold myself back for several days, but you're just too slow. Take it as an inspiration :)

Galatea, I really like your "cold bug". It's quite different but as the series shows, they adapt to various extremes so it "works". Good idea there.

Well, applause for the idea goes to Cliff and his 'Awesome X and the Xticles'.

But here is my newest bug hole - it's a piece from the homeworld of my Bugs. FedNet would say: 'It's an ugly planet - a bug planet'.

Following terrain pieces will look similar.
Now you know why my bugs look that 'colorful' - it's simply camouflage

 you took me idea.. I put a Copyright on my paint scheme

lol

Well, Your Idea actually looks great.. I wish I could actually paint like that. If I could mail you all the Awsome X and the Xticlles models, it would be awsome for you to do them. But id only pay ya 20 bucks (sadly, thats my average ammount)

Well, I'm still waiting on more spraypaint.. I have pictures of a kinda short battle between me, alex, n 'jesus'.

Jesus is evil.. He waited for me n alex to cripple our armies, (while he made it seem like he was doin somethin) and then attacked. I crushed one ofhis warrior uints while it was underground tho

Anywho, whenever we find the blasted cord to connect the camera to the comp, I'll post some pics. Nice work on your bugs!

I'll do a Tutorial for how to do those color shift in the online articles thread soon. Specifically I think I'll show how to paint a yellow-red Warrior and an Arctic Warrior, but I have to wait until my new bugs arrive.

It's really easy and I'm sure you can do that too, so no need to send bugs around half the world :)

Impressions from the Teck Con (Kirchheim):

Count that two new players.
Those guys were so fascinated they didn't even wanted to stop playing (till they had to go).
They played about 3 or 4 Demos and then we scratched together every last model just to get two approximately 500p battles that included the tanker (we needed to proxy Javelins with a Morita Long and Triple Thud ^^).
The last games they played almost alone ^^.

He dodged the tanker spit, he parried the Bug Bite, just to get killed by a bad armour save. Poor Seargant.
(These were the last three models on the battlefield)

Um... you can't dodge tanker spit, its's got the flame trait you don't get to dodge it.

I would say an exception should be granted when a model has a "dodging" appearance, heh.

Sounds kind of "dodgy" if you ask me. (Couldn't resist  )

Hey if you want to have a house rule, what is a better one than that? One that's model-specific. Galatea can even give him a name: "Dodger", of course  . If you did that, you might have to pay a bit more for the use of the model obviously. Then watch the opponent not pick any flame or spit models for the next game, heh. Rock, Paper, Scissors, anyone?
