Music Help, need something with strong percussion

I'll be running a certain scenario with Mad things Drumming and am looking for appropriate music to fit the encounter at the end of the scenario. Something with heavy drums and percussion and not much else would be ideal. My thought is to have the song play the entire time the PCs are in a building and increase the volume as they make their way to the final encounter (sorry if I'm being too vague, but my players ghost these boards). So, hit me with your most thumping, barbaric, evil-sounding suggestions. :D

well, the renowned Kodo taiko group of Japan always delivers great percussion with ancient roots. they were the drummers of one of the recent big kung foo flicks, hero/house of hidden daggers if i remember right.

don't know if they are wild an barbaric enough for you though.

there is lots of great African drum groups, some from burkina faso.

my cd collection is out of reach, but a google search and bit-torrent should yield you lots of mp3s

Ummagumma has great percussions, and although not all tracks are suitable for the game, it certainly provides themes ranging from the formulaic, grandilocuent, dreamy, heroic and weird. The album is simply epic, and the association with the ruins of Pompeii has a nice echo of the past too.

The new Battlestar Galactica series (OK, not really new anymore) has some great all-percussion parts to its soundtrack, mainly for the building of pre-combat tension. It should suit nicely.

Oooh, good call. Checked out some BSG tunes on Amazon and yeah, they're damn near perfect for my needs. The track "The Olympic Carrier" from season 1 fits the bill nicely. Thanks all for the suggestions! :D

For a Pict setting, I advise Ah-Nee-Mah (modern native American music). There are many drums, ritual chants and flute.
