MuGu games Star Fleet Campaing Ends

We are using the campaign rules from the back of the book for the most part. The map rules work like this.

2 hexes are given to each race at the start of the campaign one is race specific and the other one each race is competing for. The Race objective is worth 100pts the big one is worth 200pts. Campaign ends labor day.

1. You may only Attack a hex that borders a Hex of your space.
2. You win a battle and that sector becomes yours.
3. if you take every hex that touches and objective you get 50pts bonus.
4. You must maintain line of supply to the objective hex to score it.
5. Each race is given 2 chances to deep strike meaning attack a hex that is not bordering there space.
6. You may purchase a base and place it in a hex that you control that is in Line of Supply.
7. If you attack a hex with a base in it this will not count against the fleet points for that mission and the base is deployed after both fleets are deployed more than 18 inches from any enemy model the base must be on the map campaign map before the attacking player has declared he will assault that sector.

The Federation lost a narrowly today allowing the Klingon empire to take hold of a sector and build a battle station. Yes it's fully operational

Looks good, what's going to be used for the battlestation? Is it actually deployed in games if the area is attacked? (only the rulebook that came in the fleet box, waiting for my local store to get the big one in.) If so I have a few ideas to covert some federations ones.
Station K7 possibly? and a more heavily armoured varient?

@Zarathustra Suicune: If you attack a hex with a base in it this will not count against the fleet points for that mission and the base is deployed after both fleets are deployed more than 18 inches from any enemy model the base must be on the map campaign map before the attacking player has declared he will assault that sector.

I will be using a Chaos battle station from BSG

The Federation has won 2 battles one vs the Klingon Empire and one vs the Kzinti. The Romulans have also thwarted a Kzinti advance. We have extended the campaign til Oct 1 so there is plenty of time to get games in and win so if you live in near Everett WA please come to MuGu games or join NorthWest Wargamers on FB schedule a game!

We were using string beads to represent dust clouds this time, the Feds had just gone into full reverse during the move phase isolating their FFB's from fire from the New Heavy Cruiser leaving the CM in a seriously disadvantaged position. It was a 400 pt. battle using the scenario "Space Superiority", but the Kzinti had a -10 percent point disadvantage (although they had many more refit upgrades from previous battles than the Feds had).

The Feds lost the Komodo FFB when it was crippled by drones and finished spectacularly by the NCH's disruptors 2 turns later. The Kzinti fleet unfortunately was lost with all hands, first the isolated CM, then then the NCH as well not long after it took a couple of overloaded photons through the shields when it raced forward to protect the CM.

Coming down the home Stretch the campaign ends Oct 1st. I just wanted to update those that have been following this. The Federation has been kicking ass while the Romulans have not been getting many games the Klingon's and The Kzinti have been smashing each other pretty good. I had really Zero respect for fed ships before the campaign started and that has changed in a big way for me now.

The Kzinti have won the campaign Way to go Bob from this day forth you will be know as Whiskers the Great! Thousands of kzinti celebrate on there home world this day!

The campaign rules seemed a little strange for what the pictures showed on the hex map. So an empire would select a hex next to the ones under their control, and then play a battle against another empire? so whoever wins the battle gets the hex they announced they were playing for? or did you have to be the attacker to win the hex? and if the defender wins they dont gain their hex they just win?

@JohnDW Both players pic a hex to attack the battle is played the winner gets a hex the looser gets nothing.

The Idea behind attacking open space and playing anyone and taking that space is so people can get games in. This campaign is designed so people with different schedules can get games in and have fun and not be punished for a loss.

Campaigns crumble if people feel they are out of the running you have to everything you can to keep people engaged.
