Our group is loving this game, but we keep coming up with new questions. Here's our latest batch, and none of these are addressed in either the latest Errata or the FAQ:
1. Can crippled ships use Special Actions? There doesn't seem to be any restrictions against them doing so. Even though crippled ships can only move a "maximum of 6 inches", the rules seem to be inconsistent about what "maximum move" means (see question 3 below). So it looks to our group like a crippled ship can declare All Power to Engines and still move 16".
2. A Klingon ship starts the game with a maximum of 20 shields. During the game it loses 7 shields, reducing its current shields to 13. Then it sustains two critical hits, each of which reduces its maximum shields by 5, so now its max shields is 10. How many current shields does it have? 10 (being the lesser of max and current), 3 (being 10 max lost PLUS the additional 7 already lost), or something else?
3. A ship sustains a critical that reduces its max speed to 10". Can it declare All Power to Engines and go 16"? If yes, then it is exceeding its "max speed". If no, then why is there language in the power drain rules specifically stating that a ship with reduced max speed due to a critical hit cannot choose the 6" move option since it can't go the normal 12" (which is kind of crazy anyway because why would you declare All Power to Engines - which causes a power drain - and then declare a 6" move?). This implies it can declare all power to engines, but must use one of the weapons restrictions due to power drain.
4. Does declaring All Power to Engines increase speed to 16", or is it supposed to add 4" to a ship's max move? For example, a ship with a max speed of 10" due to a critical then declares All Power to Engines. Does it move 16", 14", 10", something else?
Thanks
